As the battle raged on, eventually everyone started to feel a bit tired. Wave after waved of enemies came to attack the town but got repelled immediately afterwards. Nirra was down to her last 3 balls of ammunition for her musket. If she used them up now she would have to get closer to use her flintlock.

The horde was still very capable, and everyone was getting pretty tired. Alchemist now moved in to replenish the strength of the frontline as well as their archer protectors whilst waiting for the next wave to arrive. Edwina ran up to Nirra; the latter was using her musket as an aid for her to stand up.

"Here, drink this," she said while she got a bottle filled with a dimly glowing green liquid.

"What's that?" Nirra asked as she grabbed the bottle and opened the cork.

"It's an energy restoration potion. It'll help replenish your energy" Edwina then helped her up as Nirra drank the potion.

Nirra noted the teste was bitter, but nevertheless she felt more energized than she did a few seconds ago. She loaded another round into her musket and cocked the action.

"Listen up!" The old muscular man from earlier shouted.

"The next one is the last wave, according to our scouts! Give it everything you got!" He then went back to the frontlines to await the last wave.

Nirra got ready and kneeled down beside Edwina. She aimed her musket at the direction where the final wave will come and she'll be damn sure she isn't going to waste the last three balls of ammunition left. She can see Ellie near her position, her blade was covered in blood along with the armor she was wearing. Ellie noticed that Nirra was looking at her worriedly so she gave her twin sister a thumbs up signaling that she's fine and ready for face the final wave.

"Here they come!" The guy from earlier shouted as the battlefield was filled with the thunderus sound of the last wave.

The fight soon turned into a melee as the number of goblins from earlier was more than the current wave they were fighting but had more orcs than the previous waves.

She then spotted a goblin that was about to attack her sister, who was busy outmaneuvering an orc. Nirra pointed her weapon to the goblin and fired. She managed to hit it in the leg thanks to the innacurate nature of non rifled firearms. The goblin just limped towards her sister aiming to scratch her with its small claws. She tried to reload as fast as she could but the nature of flinlock firearms didn't allow her to load it in time.

In the end, Ellie was able to see the goblin and maneuver herself to decapitate it with one sword swing at its head. Nirra needed a firearm that can carry multiple shots of ammunition because the reload time of a musket was it's biggest weakness.

She was thinking for a brief perid that she she didn't saw the goblin that was flanking her. "NIRRA!!" She heared her sister shout as the goblin was able to lunge at her. She closed her eyes preparing to recive the blow but was suprised that she hadn't been injured. When she opened her eyes, the goblin was on the groun impaled by a spear. When she gazed at the position wher ethe soear could have come from. She saw a man wearing some heavy looking armor. He didn't have a helmet so Nirra was able to see his appearance. Short black hair with brown eyes. Judging by his looks, Nirra thought that he must be a high ranking knight do to the decorations on his armor.

The man walked past Nirra and retrieved his spear from the corpse of the dead goblin. He retrived it with blood splattered on the ground near the dead goblin.

"Watch yourself, girl." He turned to Nirra and gave her a stern look.

"T-thanks..." Nirra said as she stood up from the ground as she grabbed her musket.

"Captain Phillips, thank the lord you have arrived." The guild master from earlier said as he approached him.

"My knights will support the frontlines. Let's push them back one last time" Knights from the gate of the town started pulling out into the battlefield. Within minutes, with help from knights, the adventures managed to repel the last wave of monsters as assasins took out any stragglers that were still visible.

Everyone cheered and raised their weapons high to signify victory. Captain Phillips though was staring at Nirra, specifically her weapon.

'What an interesting piece of equipment!" he thought as he remembered the shot she took at the goblin that was aiming at her sister.

Nirra was with Ellie, and the twins smiled in happiness as they noticed that neither of them were injured in the battle.

"That was amazing, sis; the way you killed some of them with just one shot was spectacular," Ellie said while she cleaned her sword from the blood before sheathing it into the scabbard on her waist.

"Yeah, but take a shower first after we get home," Nirra commented to her sister, who was covered in monster blood.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll do it." Ellie replied while she rolled her eyes. The two was then cought by a slight tackle by their resident alchemist.

"That was a really good show, you two. That weapon, along with Nirra, was so deadly, and Ellie, with her sword, tore into those orcs like a butcher," Edwina commented.

"Yeah, but this weapon needs more upgrades." Nirra said while she heled her flintlock infront of her.

"What's wrong with it?" Edwina asked ashs she looked over Nirra's shoulder.

"Nothing; it's just that Ellie and I almost got killed because I wasn't able to reload in time." Nirra said.

"Don't worry, sis, we're still alive, and I'm sure you'll find a solution to that issue," Ellie said.

"Yeah, I do already have something in mind," Nirra said with a smirk.
