The next day arrived. Nirra woke to the smell of her campfire going out. When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Mofu. The small, three-tailed fox huddled around near her face, so he was the first thing she saw.

She then got up and scratched her eye, followed by a yawn. The movement startled Mofu a bit, so he also started to wake up.

"Good morning, Mofu," Nirra said as she got up.

"Mofu.." The fox was a bit tired, so it took him some time to fully wake up. She saw Mofu's ears and tail tips turn a silver color for a moment before turning back to black.

After Nirra did some stretching, she holstered her pistol and grabbed her bag. By this time, Mofu was also awake and was now on all fours, following Nirra. The tips of the fox's ears and tail also turned their normal silver color.

They walked for what it felt like to be a couple of hours. Nirra periodically stopped to eat as well as feeding Mofu some of her last food. She had to rish of being vulnerable by using one of her remaining cartridges to hunt. When she was about to leave to go hunt for food, Mofu came along and had a dead rabbit in his jaw.

"Mofu!" Mofu said as he placed the rabbit near Nirra.

Nirra was suprised that Mofu was able to hunt relatively quickly, and with a creature as big as him. So she patted Mofu's head, to which mofu gave her a satisfied.

"Mofu~"

Nirra then grabbed a knife to start butchering the rabbit for its meat and removed the bones. A couple of minutes later she manages to start another campfire, using the same method she used yesterday. She cooked the rabbit meat and started eating while she also fed Mofu as she ate. After their little lunch break, they continued with their walk once again. Nirra knew that she needed to find a river that usually goes through this forest. Because if she followed it downstream, she would find the walled town of Redfield. Her sister and parents must be worried sick; that only made her even more determined to find her way back home. Her eyes focused on Mofu for a bit; maybe he could help find the river with his sharp nose and hearing.

Just as she was about to ask Mofu for something, the two heard a loud, thunderous clop in front of them. That could only mean one thing: the Sturmhirsch was near their location. Mofu was shaking as he looked straight in front of them, so Nirra picked him up and ran towards a nearby bush.

Nirre peered through the leaves to see the Sturmhirsch clopping towards their last known location, still with the injured eye it suffered from Nirra yesterday. She guessed it wanted payback. It looked around to see where Nirra was, but she stayed completely still, even holding her breath in the process.

Adrenaline was coursing through her veins, telling her to run, but she fought through those instincts and stayed completely still. When she looked at Mofu by her side, he was slowly backing away. She saw the Sturmhirsch breath out in frustration as it slowly clopped away.

But before it could go away, a loud crack, possibly from a stick, could be heard. Nirra turned around to see that Mofu had stepped on a stick, which caused the noise. Nirra immediately picked up Mofu and dashed out of the bush before it got hit by a lightning bolt.

Nirra ran around while she carried the small fox in her arms. She pulled out her revolver and started unloading on the deer. She fired off five shots that hit the deer in multiple areas that included the leg, torso, head, antler, and even the abdomen when it stood up on two legs, trying to intimidate Nirra. All of them ricocheted off the deer's body. The problem with revolvers is that they sometimes lack the penetration needed to kill large animals. As she readied her final round, the deer started a charge right at Nirra, aiming to impale her with its antlers.

Nirra managed to dodge in the last possible second, but she tripped on the landing. She tried to get back up before getting electrocuted by the deer behind her. Her pained screams grew silent as she fell limp on the ground, Mofu jumping out of her arms.

"Mofu!" The fox tried to get Nirra to stand up again, but the girl was too injured.

"Mofu...... Run...." Nirra spoke in a low voice as the fox noticed that the deer was slowly moving up to them. Mofu did as he was told and ran towards a bush.

Mofu can't let the person who was so kind to him die here. After all, he was just investigating the spot where a battle happened inside his territory when she saw Nirra laying on the ground. He healed Nirra's wounds from the fall with his special ability, which allowed him to heal wounds that could kill a person by licking. He was so startled when she woke up that he jumped into a nearby bush to hide. He kept a close eye on Nirra after that happened, but as day turned to night, he was getting hungry. He saw an opportunity to take a bite of Nirra's food when she left, but was surprised at how compassionate she was when she fed him her food. Nirra didn't know, but that night, Mofu decided that she would help Nirra find her way back home. But he also made another decision after they slept together. He will live with her as her spirit companion.

So with determination in his veins, Mofu lept out of the bush to confront the Sturmhirsch and stood between it and Nirra.

"Mofu..... What are you doing? Just leave me...." Nirra said, almost whispering, as she stared at the scene in front of her.

Mofu did not comply, though, as he felt a deep connection between himself and her. Suddenly, a large amount of power surged through his body. Making him larger and larger until he was at least five times his original size. He was even bigger than Sturmhirsch, who stepped back during Mofu's transformation.

"Mofu...." Nirra murmured before she passed out from her injuries.

After Nirra passed out. The large, three-tailed fox looked like his small version with the white fur. The main difference is that the tips of his tail, paws, and ears were now glowing with alternating colors like a rainbow, and he had nine tails instead of three. Mofu looked at his opponent with renewed confidence in his glowing purple eyes and charged forward to deliver the first strike with a deep and angry

"MOFU!"
