The next day, after breakfast, the group decided to immediately go on a quest while the sun was just above the horizon. Orange light bathed the surrounding area in a beautiful golden glow as it maneuvered through the streets of the city to reach the guild. After they finally made it to the guild, they stepped inside the building only to see a big crowd that surrounded the quest board.

"That's... a big crowd," Ellie commented as she and her companions stood in the doorframe.

"Well, it is the morning rush," said Ameria, who just stared at the crowd.

"Maybe we should wait a little bit?" Nirra recommends, pointing to a nearby bench.

They agreed with her, and they all sat down and waited, the noise of the crowd still audible as they waited until it slowly thinned out as the day dragged on. Eventually, they dispersed after a few minutes and were now lining up to get their quests registered. Ellie noticed then and motioned for her sister and Ameria to follow.

The group took a long look at the whiteboard. There were still a number of quests posted. So each one of them took their pick to see what they could find.

"Hey, Ellie, how about this?" Nirra said as she pointed at the parchment paper she was holding.

Ellie took the paper from her sister's hands and read it out loud: "Dire wolves are causing chaos in the forest westward from here; slay them. 5 gold coins per wolf kill.". Ellie thought for a second. "Maybe not, since I want to get better with the sword," Ellie said before she gave the piece of paper back to her sister.

"Suit yourself," Nirra commented before she nailed the quest back onto the quest board.

"How about this, Ellie?" came the voice of Ameria as she leaned sideways towards Ellie with a quest in hand.

Once again, she took the quest from Ameria's hands and said what was written out loud for her companions to hear: "Wyverns are terrorizing a village in the northeastern mountain range. Please deal with them. Reward: 15 gold coins per downed wyvern + 30 gold for quest completion."

Ellie held her chin for a bit. "I can't really be useful in this since those wyverns would be flying." Ellie sighed before she retuned the quest back to Ameria; the latter shrugged before she pinned it back to the board.

Ellie's eyes continued to search the board until she found something interesting. "Hey guys, how about this?" Ellie showed them the quest she found.

This time, Nirra read it out loud: "Fire salamanders are eating the crops of a village eastward near the foot of a volcano; please deal with them: 10 gold per kill + 50 for quest completion."

"Fire salamanders?" Nirra pulled down the quest peper that was in her hands and turned to Ameria.

"A big reptile that likes to feast on plants that are grown around volcanic soil. Don't be fooled though; they spit fire as a defense mechanism," Ameria explained with her hand pointed to the ceiling.

Nirra turned to Ellie and asked, "Why do you want to take this quest, Ellie? I'm sure your Blade Ignition isn't going to work against them."

"I have another spell I really wanted to test out, and this looks like a perfect quest to do so," Ellie explained before she grabbed the quest off of Nirra's hands.

"Alright, then let's do it," Nirra commented as Ellie walked up towards the line at the front desk. It wasn't as huge before because it shrank while they were looking for a good quest.

After Ellie got it registered, they left the guild to begin the quest. It was now morning, and the sun hung low in the sky as they set themselves up.

Nirra checked all her available ammo and took a mental note of how much she has on her "26 Revolver Rounds, 5 Shotgun Birdshots, 5 Shotgun Buckshots, and 30 40mm rounds for the M1873." What she didn't notice is that her companions heard what she was talking about.

In front of Nirra, Ellie moved closer to Ameria as they walked down the path towards the eastern gate.

"So, do you know what sis is talking about?" Ellie whispered to Ameria with her hand covering her mouth.

"No clue," Ameria answered briefly.

"Who names their cool weapon with numbers?" Ellie commented on the way Nirra referred to her rifle.

"I think it's a personal choice on her part. I do think there's a reason as to why she's naming her strange weapons after numbers," Nirra whispered back.

"I just find the name "M-18-73" weird," she commented.

"Perhaps you can ask her about the naming sense of her weapons?" Nirra whispered back.

"I don't think she'll give an answer; you know how secretive she is when it comes to her strange weapons," Ellie whispered as she took a glance at her sister, who was petting the fox on her shoulder, specifically the newest addition to her arsenal, the shotgun.

"Also that tube thing—she calls it a shootgun?" Ellie whispered again.

"Ellie, I can hear you, and it's pronounced 'shotgun'" Ellie froze for a second as she heard the annoyed voice of her sister; they all stopped walking as she did so.

"H-how did you know I was talking about your weapons?" Ellie slowly turned back to see the annoyed expression on her sister's face.

"You always talk louder than you think you are," Nirra blankly said as she recalled the times Ellie tried to whisper something only for it to come out like she was talking normally. Ellie also heard Ameria let out a small giggle behind her.

"S-sorry, I was just curious about your naming sense," Ellie apologized while holding her left arm with her right.

"If you wanted to know so badly, then it's named after the size of the 'grain' on the cartridge." Nirra brought out a .44 round for Ellie's eyes. "The grain is the length of this brass piece," Nirra explained.

"I see… So M1873 means it has 1873 grains?" Ellie tried to process the information Nirra gave her.

"Yes," Nirra affirmed, though in the back of her mind she knew she lied.

'sorry sis, I can't tell you the name because M1873 means Model 1873. 1873 being the year it was introduced' Nirra thought.

With this little thing cleared up, the group began walking towards the eastern gate once again. Nirra gave Mofu headbands along the way, much to the small fox's appreciation.
