“Don’t worry, I will be wary of him. But, my parents had some connections with his father, so if he was only fooled, I’m not opposed to giving him some warnings.”

Although Lin Sifei agreed, she didn’t believe that Yuan Mo would come to his awakening that soon. Considering the situation, it seemed like the plot was still continuing according to the original novel, so Yan Yafei’s protagonist halo didn’t seem to have disappeared. Otherwise, there was no other way to explain how Yan Yafei had won Yuan Mo’s support so securely.

When Luo Ke pushed open the door to the guest meeting room, Yuan Mo stood up, smiling, “Chair Luo, I hope my sudden appearance didn’t disturb you in any way.”

“Of course not.” Luo Ke put Lin Sifei on the table, and sat on the long sofa herself. “President Yuan, you said you wanted to discuss movie investments with me, is it my friends’ movie?”

Yuan Mo nodded, “Yes, as I have said before, Chair Luo you have the best intuition, so if Chair Luo you were to invest in a movie, I should just follow you without error to be able to profit.”

“But the entertainment company under our family often operates in deficit. In comparison to your flourishing company, you guys have so many resources and connections, we aren’t anything significant.”

“Because of this, we should cooperate.” Yuan Mo exuded a business aura, as if he was truly here to talk about business, “We can provide some better resources, including the advertising and projecting in the later stages of the project, and potentially when the movie hits the box office.” He smiled, rubbing his fingertips together. “Like this, we can achieve a double win.”

“Seems reasonable,” Luo Ke nodded agreeably, and Yuan Mo relaxed, leaning back on the sofa.

“But,” Luo Ke suddenly changed her tone, “Who told you that I was going to invest in this particular movie?”

Yuan Mo started, “But didn’t you say that personally last night?”

“Last night, I only stated that my friend Lin Sifei was going to go to a set soon, but I didn’t say that I specifically invested in this movie, I only said that she got her role through a few of my connections. Who gave you this idea… Or who fed this incorrect idea to you?”

Luo Ke slightly leaned forward, her posture more forceful. The atmosphere in the meeting room immediately became more foreboding, with only the clock on the wall emitting a chiming sound.

It was 10 o’clock.

Luo Ke got up again, although she rubbed Lin Sifei’s back once, for support. Yuan Mo had been part of the business scene for a long time, and when he thought back to the conversation last night, both Lin Sifei and Luo Ke never mentioned that they had directly invested in the movie.

Although he had heard of some old company directors directly taking care of some up and coming stars, they usually all just invest some money and make sure their person gets at least a small role. He was also operating similarly like this with Yan Yafei, so just then in the car, when Yan Yafei had expressed her envy that Luo Ke was directly investing in Lin Sifei’s movie, he didn’t think that there was a problem.

When Luo Ke saw him press his lips together, she continued, “Remember when I said that Yan Yafei has malicious intent towards cats? I can give you the recording, so that you can see if she gave my cat chocolate by accident, or if it was intended. I’m giving you all of this advice because I remember that our parents and older generations have had good collaborations in good will before, but whether or not you choose to listen, that is on you.”

Yuan Mo sat on the sofa, his facial expression slightly stormy.

If she continued to talk to Yuan Mo, she might end up with a slightly worse situation, so Luo Ke stood up, finishing, “I have invested in Lin Sifei’s movie, that’s true, but it is because I trust her ability completely. However, I don’t do business that ends in a deficit. If it does, it’ll mean that she owes me money.”

After she was done, she turned around, ready to leave.

But as she did, Lin Sifei leapt up and clung onto her chin and arms. Owe you money? My sister, this is the first time I’ve heard of an investment working like this. If it earns a profit, then you get to keep the profit, but if it goes into deficit, then it’s my fault and I owe you money. Hmmph, that is truly some zero risk investment.

Luo Ke, having been latched onto, quickened her pace as she left the room, closing the door. Then, she pulled Lin Sifei’s claws off her, cupping her chin.

Be careful of your claws, it really hurts.” Luo Ke gazed at her reflection in the polished walls, relieved that Lin Sifei’s claw only left a red mark, no blood.

Lin Sifei was still meowing like crazy, obviously berating her.

Luo Ke just pretended that she couldn’t hear her, and after a bit, when Lin Sifei had meowed till her mouth was dry, finally added, “If you continue to tell me off I can pull out the investment.”

""

Lin Sifei paused for a second, but then realized that really, the words Luo Ke just said were about the same as pulling out the investment all together, so she continued to meow in anger.

Luo Ke couldn’t help but laugh, “I was just saying it like that, since otherwise he would definitely be fooled by Yan Yafei again.

Lin Sifei pursed her mouth, and then pulled out her phone and typed,

[What you just said, was that all false, just to lie to him?]

“What are you worried about, we didn’t sign any contracts. If I wanted you to return my investment money, you could simply just refuse and I wouldn’t be able to do anything with you,” Luo Ke suggested shamelessly for Lin Sifei.

Lin Sifei thought about it, hmm, it seemed like it was true. She reached out her paws and patted Luo Ke’s arm, relieved. Very nice, very nice, you know how to get benefits for me.

Luo Ke, seeing her cat’s tail wave with happiness, shook her head, slightly exasperated. Even though there wasn’t a contract, wouldn’t it be easy for someone to make her fall into a trap?

She gazed at the gap in her lap, rethinking her perspective on her cat. Yes, it was evident that her cat had just cultivated enough to become human, since she didn’t really understand the hardships of the human world yet. Maybe in the future, she could give her cat a lesson, since what if she was lied to and hurt out in the real world?

Lin Sifei didn’t know what Luo Ke was thinking, as she was still thinking about her 50 million investment, other actors in the movie, as well as how she was going to turn back into a human.

They sleep in the same bed, but have different thoughts and dreams.

Lin Sifei’s thoughts when Luo Ke said money was owed… too cute!!
