After spending the entire day at the company, Lin Sifei was quite anxious. Although it had not yet reached the time to get off work, she was already up and pacing about on Luo Ke’s desk, not letting her really work.
As Luo Ke tidied up and readied her things, Lin Sifei was squatting in front of the clock, alternating between glances at the second hand of the clock and Luo Ke.
These glances gave Luo Ke quite a lot of pressure, so much so that she finished organizing her items much faster.
“Xiaoxiao, you can stop looking, I’m done.” Luo Ke lifted her briefcase and slightly shook it.
Lin Sifei immediately turned around and leapt in front of her, and plopped herself on Luo Ke’s arm, “Meow!” Let’s go!
However, when they left work, they immediately were caught in traffic, leaving one person and cat in the car, stuck on the road.
Lin Sifei popped her head out of the window from time to time to observe the long car lines in front of them, and then would look at the time in the car. When would the traffic jam end? If they missed the time, then would she be unable to turn back again?
“Don’t be anxious, we’ll get there on time,” Luo Ke estimated the time, “Yesterday we were also waiting for the dishes to come, and then you ate some as a cat first, so you turned into a human around 7pm. We will be on time.”
Lin Sifei, not reassured, still anxiously paced around on the passenger seat.
Luo Ke hauled Lin Sifei into her lap, rubbing her back, but when she lifted her hand, there was a lot of fur stuck on it.
She fell silent for a second, starting to worry: If as a cat she loses fur, will she become bald when she becomes a human?
Luo Ke, seeing that Lin Sifei had finally calmed down a bit, swallowed her words. No matter what, right now she shouldn’t let Lin Sifei know that she lost a lot of fur. Maybe, when they get home, they can change their shampoo too.
Amid Lin Sifei’s heightened anxiety, Luo Ke finally drove her car out of the slow section, and on the rest of the way to the restaurant, all of the lights were green.
“We have enough time, you’ve got to believe me now, I won’t lie to you.” Luo Ke bounced Lin Sifei’s paws, and them picked her up.
Lin Sifei twisted her head away, snorting in her head. She felt that she was justifiably anxious, after all, this was quite the big matter.
“We will go to the private room I ordered yesterday.” Luo Ke took out her VIP card to show the waiter.
The waiter scanned the card at the front desk, but then very apologetically informed them, “We apologize, Ms. Luo, this room has already been reserved for another group of guests.”
“Who ordered it?”
“Sorry, this relates to our customer’s privacy, we cannot provide that.”
Luo Ke’s brows gradually furrowed.
This restaurant was doing well because of two reasons.
First, of course, the food was sublime, but it was also because their manager had some background and he only did good natured business and followed the rules in with this restaurant. They delegated tasks well and planned well, so a lot of business meetings also like choosing this place.
“I only need the private room for a small amount of time, half to one hour, if the people who ordered it have a large dinner in mind then they wouldn’t be here so fast. Could you please discuss this with your manager and let us use the private room for a little while?”
In reality, this was also against the rules of the restaurant, since for the employees, their only rule was to follow orders and ignore anything else.
But this person had a VIP card from the earliest batch the manager had ever given out to good friends and family.
The waiter took a deep breath, bowed and smiled, “Then please wait, I will go ask our manager.”
“Alright.” Luo Ke swept her eyes around the lobby, finally sitting down next to the indoor pond.
The fish in the pond slowly swam around, and next to the pond, there was some feed. Luo Ke grabbed some and scattered them in the pond, which attracted bunches of fish.
Lin Sifei, crouching on her lap, watched the groups of fish in the pond, her paws itching.
Hold it, hold it, it’ll be a bad influence if she was caught fishing in public!
She stared at the fish, taking deep breaths.
Luo Ke was also watching the fish, not noticing Lin Sifei’s struggles, and scattered more feed, causing the fish to group even more.
Suddenly, a large fish rammed into a group from the side, scattering away the other fish and opening its mouth to swallow most of the feed.
Lin Sifei’s pupils dilated and her eyes ballooned. What a fat fish!
As this thought took over her mind, she pounced, her claws flashing, and with a splat, the fish landed on the floor in front of her.
Looking at her wet paws, Lin Sifei froze.
“Fappapa!” The flapping of the fish tail out of the water made quite the sound, finally bringing her back to reality.
As the fish tail kept on slapping the floor and making sound, it drew the attention of other people within the lobby. Lin Sifei’s old habit of maintaining her star image immediately took over her, and she pounced on the fish to hold down it’s tail, not letting it flop all over. So embarrassing!
“Chair Luo, are you regressing or something? Is your company going bankrupt or something? So you brought your cat here to fish for dinner?”
When Lin Sifei heard this unclear drawl, she immediately got goosebumps. As someone who was specifically trained to pronounce words right for a script or production, she really wanted this person to get rid of this accent and talk properly.
Although the manager was pretty passive-aggressive with his tone, Luo Ke’s expression did not change, “Manager Fang, long time no see.”
“It has been a while. This Manager Fang snorted twice, all the while fidgeting with the VIP card in his hand. “I thought that Chair Luo would not ever enter my restaurant.”
“Why would you think that?” Luo Ke waved towards Lin Sifei, picking her up, “Is it because I refused your confession?”
Manager Fang’s carefree attitude immediately dissipated, and he looked at Luo Ke accusingly, neck and face red, “Sh*t! Why did you mention that?!”
“Because I think that that is the reason why you are angry every time you see me,” Luo Ke analyzed coolly.
“You come even though you know I’m angry! Are you specifically against me?” Manager Fang could not have been angry, and he waved his hand, causing many forceful looking security guards to surround them.
Lin Sifei buried herself in Luo Ke’s arms, and under her belly, she had her phone. She only needed to dial through the number currently on it, 110*, to get the police here, since she really thought that the police needed to come and deal with some evil.
Luo Ke glanced at the group, and shook her head, “I only came here because this restaurant is quite good, and my cat can eat too.”
As she said so, she pulled Lin Sifei out a little and let Manager Fang look at her.
Lin Sifei’s eyes flew open, and when she met the gaze of the “bad person” in front of her, her paws started shaking. Chair Luo, what are you doing, why are you not protecting me but instead exposing me, are you even human?
“You!” Manager Fang’s face grew even worse, using his pointer finger to point at Lin Sifei.
Lin Sifei, scared, shuddered, eyes watering and nervously meowing.
Manager Fang gritted his teeth and continued to stare at Lin Sifei, and Lin Sifei kept on crying out, “Meowrrrrr-rrr“
Luo Ke raised her eyebrow, “I need to use that private room. I won’t touch anything, and half an hour is enough for me. She shook the cat in her hand, “For this little thing.”
Manager Fang still maintained his twisted expression, but he pointed his finger at the hallway, and sighed forcefully, “Ay! Go, and this is the only exception. Next time, don’t even think about coming inside my restaurant.”
“But what if my cat wants something?”
“You know how to order food delivery?” Manager Fang walked away, still seething.
Luo Ke raised her eyebrow again, walked into the room, nodded to the waiter, and closed the door.
She checked the curtains of the room, and then took the clothes out from her bag, breathed in deeply, and picked up the cat.
“I’ll kiss you?”
Lin Sifei closed her eyes, nodding her head hard.
But, when Luo Ke kissed, there was no reaction.
Lin Sifei was so anxious that she waved her paws everywhere. Luo Ke picked her up to place her next to the table, trying to recreate the previous scene they had.
“I sat here, wanting to feed you, and then you leaned in….”
“Then we try both,” Luo Ke decided quickly. She quickly lowered her head to kiss, but still no reaction.
She raised her eyebrow, “See, you kiss me.”
Lin Sifei raised her head to kiss, but still no reaction.
Lin Sifei felt that she had been lied to, her furry paws anxiously hitting Luo Ke’s thighs.
But really, she was too weak as a cat, so Luo Ke just pretended that her cat was massaging her leg, which was a good thing since she had been in high heels all day and her legs hurt.
While Lin Sifei was intently massaging, no, hitting Luo Ke, Luo Ke lifted her wrist to look at her watch, “You turned to a human at around seven, but we don’t know what time you really became a cat other than that it was before 9am, and you were a cat since.”
She lowered her head. “Could it possibly be the time? Right now, if you turned into a cat at 7 in the morning, then that would be a full 12 hours, and maybe you would have to stay as a cat for a full 12 hours.”
When Lin Sifei heard this, she thought that Luo Ke had some reason, so she leaned over to look at Luo Ke’s watch. Ten minutes till seven.
Just in case, Luo Ke added, “We can try more than one time, since we aren’t sure of the exact time you transformed last time.
Lin Sifei nodded, closed her eyes, lifted her head, and waited for Luo Ke to kiss her.
When Luo Ke saw Lin Sifei’s position, asking for a kiss, although she had a furry cat face right now, Luo Ke could imagine Lin Sifei;s human expression if she was in the exact same position. Probably something with her eyes down and lips slightly puffed up, eyebrows slightly nervous, and with a look of being wronged and anxiety written all over her face. Basically, an expression that made Luo Ke pity her.
This time, a white mist gathered, covering a certain transforming cat, but then a gust of wind dissipated the white mist, revealing the woman.
As the air flow stopped, Lin Sifei’s long hair floated back to her shoulders. With her large eyes, she stared at Luo Ke, and then excited hugged her.
“I’ve transformed back! Hahaha!”
Luo Ke hugged her legs, afraid that Lin Sifei would fall, but Lin Sifei happily framed Luo Ke’s face with her hands and planted another kiss.
Luo Ke looked up, staring at the chandelier in the room, “Put on some clothes first.”
Lin Sifei finally remembered, and hurriedly crossed her arms over her chest, getting off of Luo Ke.
Luo Ke drew in a breath, picked up her bag next to her and handed Lin Sifei the clothes.
Lin Sifei quickly put on the clothes and flicked her hair back, hopping in front of Luo Ke. “Okay! Let’s go, I think you are right with your 12 hour hypothesis, let’s try again when we go back.”
Luo Ke frowned, looking at Lin Sifei, “We made a commotion coming in, and everybody saw one person and one cat come in. How do you expect to explain two people going out?”
Lin Sifei immediately halted, then pulled on her hair, “Right! How do I get out!”
Luo Ke pinched her chin and thought, “Try to become a cat again.”
“Then, kiss again?” Lin Sifei blinked, puffed up her lips, reaching towards her.
The tips of Luo Ke’s ears became red, but when she kissed onto Lin Sifei’s lips, she did not turn back.
Again, Lin Sifei started pulling at her hair, anxiously pacing around the table.
Luo Ke, seeing Lin Sifei pull out her hair, thought of the cat hair she had seen on the car, and started to worry again. She wouldn’t really go bald, would she, maybe she should remind her of that?
As Luo Ke’s thought process veered off track, with a “pow”, Lin Sifei, who was just now standing near the table, disappeared.
Luo Ke hurriedly ran over, and saw the mess of clothes all over. A cat climbed out from the collar of the shirt, but women’s underwear was still draped over said cat.
When Luo Ke saw this, she couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh.
Lin Sifei turned her embarrassment to anger, claws flashing at Luo Ke’s stockings.
Hmmph! This is what you get for laughing at your cat.
