"Do you think she'll even be at school today?" I asked as the three of us cut through the ravine. "She didn't look that good yesterday, and she left her last class early."

Nina added, "She looked like she was coming down with something. She looked tired and weary, and she seemed really distracted. Right up until she suddenly ended the class early."

My girlfriend shook her head, "I don't know, but if she's there I'm going to try and talk with her."

We hadn't had any more big revelations last night, but me and Kaylee shared the translated text on the group chat so everyone else knew what it was. Now it was Tuesday morning and we were all thinking about our English teacher and wondering if she'd be ok. The club hadn't scheduled an emergency meeting yet, but I had a feeling this was going to be the only thing we all talked about at lunch today.

Unfortunately our wolfgirls wouldn't be around, they were taking the day off to rest after being out all night for the full moon. We'd keep them updated over the group chat though, same with Brooke and Melody, then maybe the whole gang could meet up at the end of the day after class.

"Did you find a way to contact the ghost hunter guys?" Nina asked as we emerged from the ravine and set off across the field. "Or the medium?"

Kaylee nodded, "Their website had links to their social media accounts and their email address was right there too. I sent them an email last night asking them to get back to me. I told them a bit of what we're suspecting, that a member of the audience at that seance got possessed by the entity and that we need more information about the chalice. I also asked for contact info for the medium, since I couldn't find any way to get in touch with her."

"Do you think they'll respond?" I asked. "They probably get all kinds of emails talking about strange stuff."

My girlfriend shrugged, "No idea. I hope they take it seriously though. Their lecture made them sound like they were serious and responsible, but bringing that thing out to a public show was dangerous. So was letting a medium wake it up. I hope they take responsibility for putting Ms. Fields in danger."

The three of us reached the back door of the school a few moments later, and normally we'd all split up to go to our lockers. Instead Kaylee headed straight for the English and Creative Writing class, since it wasn't that far from the door. Me and Nina followed, and even though we were about fifteen minutes ahead of the morning bell the classroom door was already open.

"Ms. Fields?" Kaylee asked as we stopped just inside the door. The teacher sitting at the desk looked like Ms. Fields, but she definitely didn't look like the Ms. Fields we saw yesterday at English.

For one thing there was no sign of weariness, no bags under her eyes, and she definitely didn't look like she was coming down with anything. She looked like she was in perfect health, but that was just the start.

She also looked like she'd gotten about ten years younger, like from about forty years old down to around thirty. And her hair was different, her shoulder length blonde curls had relaxed and lengthened to straight hair that hung partway down her back. It wasn't entirely blonde anymore either, there were streaks of red in it. Finally her hazel eyes looked lighter, there was more green and less brown in them.

She was even dressed differently today, her outfit was a lot more casual than normal. Not that she tended to dress up, but she was usually sort of 'business casual', with slacks and a blouse and flat dress shoes. This morning she was wearing a pair of old sneakers, some faded blue jeans, and a cute top.

"Good morning girls!" she smiled as she greeted us in an up-beat cheerful voice. "What brings you here this morning? Kaylee, Cassandra, you don't have Creative Writing until second period today. And Nina, I wasn't expecting to see you again until tomorrow."

"Um, we just wanted to see how you were doing?" Kaylee responded. "You didn't look well at English class yesterday, and Nina said you had to cut the grade eleven class short yesterday afternoon."

The teacher grimaced slightly, "I was a little under the weather yesterday. I'm feeling much better now, but thank you for your concern. It makes me happy to know you girls care."

My girlfriend nodded slowly, while Nina asked "Um, you look a little different this morning ma'am? You look nice, but um, different?"

Ms. Fields smiled, "Thank you Nina! I decided to treat myself with a make-over yesterday evening. It's amazing how much that can help? A good night's sleep and a new look makes all the difference in the world."

After a brief awkward pause Kaylee nodded again, "Well, I'm glad you're feeling better now. We'll see you later Ms. Fields."

"Thanks again Kaylee," the teacher replied. "You girls enjoy your morning."

We all headed back out into the hall together, then went a little further away to be sure Ms. Fields couldn't hear us before we started talking again.

"There's no way a make-over did all that," Kaylee said quietly. "Cass did you see any magic on her?"

I shook my head, "I didn't see any magic, but I think you're right. I guess it's possible she got her hair styled, and maybe she's wearing contacts to change her eye colour, but I think she looks younger?"

Nina agreed, "She definitely looks younger. But she seems really happy? Maybe this isn't a problem after all? Like if she's possessed, maybe the spirit is helping her?"

Kaylee frowned, "I don't trust it. You saw the translation, what she wrote on the blackboard during your English class yesterday afternoon? Talking about betrayals and claiming her body and her soul, that doesn't sound like something a friendly spirit would say."

"There's not much we can do about it right now," I pointed out. "Maybe we can try and get everyone together for a club meeting after school though."

My girlfriend nodded, "We'll keep an eye on her, watch how she acts during class. And hopefully those ghost hunters will get back to me. We might even have to just come out and confront her. Ask if she's possessed, or ask to speak to the possessing entity."

There wasn't much more to say about the situation, so we all finally split up to visit our lockers and stuff. My first class of the day was gym, and even though Mr. Sanderson was gone for the rest of the year I was still going to class. I didn't know if he'd left instructions for his replacement or not, but Mr. Howard didn't seem any nicer than Sanderson so I didn't want to take the chance.

I met up with Paige in the change room, but there were too many other students around for us to talk about any Club Luna stuff. Then when the class started we were back outside again, since the weather was nice we ended up doing track and field stuff. It was boring and felt kind of pointless but I kept quiet and tried to make it look like I was putting in the effort without actually showing off any supernatural strength or speed.

When the class was finally over I got changed back into my comfy clothes and my big hoodie and everything, then hurried to meet up with Kaylee back at Ms. Fields' class again.

As our Creative Writing class got started it was easy to tell other students noticed the difference in our teacher. There were a couple whispers and stuff, but nobody was complaining. She didn't just look nicer, she still had that friendly cheerful attitude and she kept that up through the class.

She used the first half of the class to talk about our big final projects that were due at the end of the week, mostly she was giving us helpful tips and suggestions and stuff. And she said if anyone needed extra help or had any problems with the assignment she'd be happy to provide some one on one assistance.

Then the last half of the class she talked about the exam we'd be writing next week. She actually told us up front what the exam would be about and gave us more tips and suggestions on how to prepare for it.

It definitely felt weird for her to be so friendly and helpful and stuff, but I couldn't say for sure it was wrong or out of character for her. She wasn't a mean teacher, so her being friendly didn't seem like a huge change. I didn't actually know her very well, like she was more of a quiet teacher who kept to herself. More like up until today she'd been kind of bland and unmemorable. Now she was friendly and outgoing, and if she'd been like this all year long she probably would have been at the top of everyone's 'favourite teacher' list.

By the end of the class I was actually feeling a little confused or conflicted. Like Kaylee was right, that stuff she translated from the blackboard was definitely something to worry about, but Ms. Fields seemed happy and friendly and she looked healthy and good. I was convinced there was something supernatural going on, but I wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

About the only thing I knew for sure was we were going to talk about it over lunch.

When the bell rang me and Kaylee went to her locker then mine, before we headed to the cafeteria to meet up with everyone else. We found Nina and Willow already there, they were sitting together at a table in the back corner so the two of us headed over there to join them. And a minute or so after that Paige came to sit with us as well.

"Something's definitely up with Ms. Fields," Kaylee quietly announced, mostly for Paige and Willow since they hadn't seen her yet today. "She's had some kind of magic makeover, and she's acting very different."

I added, "She's acting really nice and friendly, and she seems really happy."

Nina agreed, "I don't know if this is anything bad after all."

Paige frowned, "It still sounds like something we should be looking into. Or at least we should keep an eye on it. I guess you haven't heard back from the ghost hunters yet Kaylee?"

"Nothing yet," my girlfriend shook her head.

Willow asked, "What about looking into some other angles? Nina told me there was a name at the seance, Dee Kenneth right? Have you tried looking her up?"

"That's not what the spirit said," I stated quietly. "It was just one word, not two. I'm not even convinced it was a name, but whatever they said it wasn't Dee Kenneth."

That earned me a couple surprised looks, and Kaylee asked "You heard it? What did it say?"

"Uh, I didn't hear it exactly?" I grimaced. "It's more like the word appeared in my mind. It sounded like deehenith, but I have no idea what that is or what it means."

Paige suggested, "It might be something demonic? Or some other ancient language?"

This time I was blushing a little as I shook my head, "It wasn't demonic, or chthonic, or any other ancient tongue. Nothing I recognized anyways."

"How about Welsh?" Willow asked as she looked up from her phone. "The stuff Ms. Fields wrote on the blackboard was Welsh right? Check this out."

The cute sorceress turned her phone around so we could see what she'd found. She was on a Welsh English translation website, and the word on her screen was spelled 'dihenydd' but pronounced similar to what I'd heard at the seance. The disturbing part was the translation.

According to some university in Wales, 'dihenydd' meant 'violent death, execution, capital punishment, doom, and ruin'.

Paige sighed, "That's really not great."

"We definitely need to do something," Kaylee stated. "I hate to say it but this is starting to sound like we might be dealing with a malevolent entity. Something was sealed up in that chalice, the medium accidentally set it free, and now it's possessing Ms. Fields."

Nina frowned, "If it's malevolent then why's it making her happy? Why's she being so nice and friendly?"

"I think we should get together for a meeting after school today, to compare notes and figure out our next moves," my girlfriend stated.

"I can't make it tonight," Paige shook her head. "The next two weeks I'm pretty much committed, all my time's going into studying and exams."

The tall brunette added, "All of us should be doing the same thing, but especially you, Kaylee and Cass. We all have our final exams next week. This is our last chance to get good grades before we graduate. For that matter Brooke and Melody probably aren't going to be available either, the college students are writing their exams this week."

Kaylee frowned as she adjusted her glasses, "I know we have exams Paige, but we can't ignore a potentially dangerous supernatural incident just because the timing's inconvenient."

"Assuming this is some kind of evil spirit, what's the solution?" Willow asked. "Like I guess right now we don't know for sure, but if it does turn out to be dangerous what would you do about it?"

Paige grimaced, "We'd need to get the entity to release its grip on Ms. Fields, then if it's a human spirit we'd lay it to rest. I don't really know what we'd do if it's not a human spirit? Maybe we'd have to get it back into the chalice thing again. Maybe that's why it was there in the first place."

"This is the sort of situation we'd probably have to turn over to the club sponsors," she added as she looked at me and Nina. "So maybe you two should talk with your moms tonight?"

My little sister frowned, "Maybe. But I still don't think this is something evil. It's not acting evil. I think it's helping Ms. Fields."

"So why don't we just ask her that?" Willow asked as she looked around at the rest of us. "Like can't we straight up question her? Hey Ms. Fields, are you being possessed by some kind of spirit? If so, is it treating you ok? Are you happy with the situation?"

My girlfriend shook her head, "Asking her something like that would draw too much attention to ourselves. It'd reveal we know more than we should about these things. And there's no guarantee she'd answer truthfully, if she's under some kind of influence or control the entity could claim she's happy."

Our newest club member rolled her eyes, "I think it's a little too late to be worrying about drawing attention to yourselves. Your gang is already the subject of loads of rumours. And there's been enough craziness in our school over the past year nobody's even going to care anymore. Like we've got a bunnygirl and her two catgirl sisters as students. Then I got 'mysteriously turned into a girl'. People know Cass is friends with the three demi-human sisters, they know you're all friends with Cass. And now I'm hanging out with you lot as well."

After a moment Willow grinned and added, "We may as well get t-shirts made or something. How's 'Paranormal Pride' sound? We could use a rainbow ghost for our mascot."

Both Kaylee and Paige facepalmed at that. Nina was smiling, and I found myself fighting to suppress a smile as well. I also kind of cringed into my hoodie too, for good measure.

"All right," my girlfriend finally sighed. "I guess for now we'll just keep an eye on Ms. Fields. We'll see what happens at English class tomorrow, and maybe we can try and talk with her. Cerys and Melanie should be at school again tomorrow too, so if we need to have a meeting maybe we can do it at lunch."

Paige agreed, "Sounds good. If things do get out of hand then obviously we'll do whatever we can to help. But for now it doesn't seem like a crisis."
