“Huaaam~” I give a big yawn as I wake up from my comfy bed. After the combat training yesterday, it is required I then attend the Academic Club, but for personal reasons, I decide not to go.

My memory is not so bad that I will forget what will happen at the 2nd Academic Club meeting. It is also an important turning point in the novel because that is when Hajin will be selling the Mountain Tyrant’s weakness to Yoenha after the lecture.

As the person who is responsible for selling that particular information, I might be in trouble if Hajin is to directly confront me. That is why I choose not to attend. At least, he will not have an immediate target. It depends on Yoenha's actions though on how my relationship with Hajin will develop.

If Yoenha decides to drop my name, and Hajin feels suspicious of me. I can just play it cool. The suspicion itself is not so bad, as it is a link that will make me confess my origins so much easier. It will be risky though as I don't know how Hajin will react, but it is worth the risk.

I trust Hajin’s character, so something like Chae Nayun’s violent disposition will not happen again. Still, I cannot be so sure as Hajin did point his gun at me. “Hmmm…” I am confident though that I can convince him despite the circumstances.

If Yoenha decides to not drop my name, then I can continue playing in the background. I prefer this happening over the other alternative, but I am fine with both ways. In a sense, I am the kind of guy who goes where the wind blows.

After fixing myself up, and receiving my dose of caffeine shot, I warm myself up by jogging around the Cube Facility.

At the beginning of the novel, the Cube is a major setting where all sorts of events will occur. I am not a super smart guy or someone who has a built-in radar in his head or something. Thus, I have to put effort into learning and getting a grasp of the area around Cube. Knowing the layout of the place will be a big boon for me in the future.

While I am jogging, I see a rather unsightly appearance. I come to a halt as I greet the pajama-wearing-panda-looking-regressor. “Chae Nayun? Aren’t you supposed to be at the hospital?”

“Shut up, I don’t want to talk…” Nayun dully replies, not even deigning to throw a retort.

Chae Nayun’s mental state is bad. In her past timeline, it has always been like that. She is emotionally vulnerable to a lot of things, but as she grows up, she learns to cope with her emotions and use them to her advantage.

It is reasonable for her to assume that she should be able to cope with her emotions now as she has regressed, but that is not the case. Comes with the regression of her intact memories to the past is the regression of her body— hormones, mental sensitivity, and every biological component has returned to its prior state. It is not a myth that the physical self influences the mental self.

After cleaning herself up and replenishing her exhaustion through meditation, she goes to the Training Grounds to improve herself. There, she sees Hyon Hyung training his dodging abilities through one of the equipment.

Chae Nayun enters the Gravitation Room without second thoughts. Changes, she has come to realize that they might be happening because of her appearance in this world.

Even if she chooses to do nothing or dedicatedly reenact what she has been doing since before regression, it will be simply a futile act on her part. Moreover, it will be too painful for her. On top of that, she has more urgent problems to deal with.

—As Baal has been annihilated, Baal will not exist in the world after the regression.

It is one of the few reasons why she chooses to regress despite all of the wrongness in it. But now, come to think of it, that message alone is suspicious. It conveniently appears like that when she is almost decided not to regress.

“You dumb bitch,” She cusses at herself while she sits in a lotus position within the Gravitation Room. Her mind wanders to the Museum Terrorism event. Djinns. They must in one way or another have connections to any Devil, and Nayun can only think of one Devil who can regress with her.

“Baal,” The Devil King’s name sourly rolls in her mouth.

Chae Nayun knows the story of how Shin Myungchul is also a regressor, and how his regression has come to become the catalyst of the Devils’ invasion.

“I just want to be happy…” She bitterly grits her molars.

The anger, sadness, and turmoil make her want to destroy everything in front of her.

In this state, she will not be able to meditate anymore, so she stands up. With her pure magic power alone, she conjures a sword. She is strong. That much is true, but by the scales, the enemies are getting stronger, she feels that her current strength is not enough anymore.

There is no need to hold back. Comes with her regression is not just the regression of her biological components, but also her most unadulterated potential which she has no plans of wasting. Before regressing, she is not able to fully unlock her potential, because of emotional constraints. But now, it is different.

“Hoooh~” With a chilling breath, her magic sword of pure magic power takes a solid shape.

~Clang! ~Bang! ~Clang!

I shudder at the sounds coming from the Gravitation Room. I try training once there, and I cannot even last a minute at the minimum difficulty. For Nayun to be making that noise, just how angry is she?

It is only natural for her to be angry. Knowing her character, she must be blaming herself for her ineptitude back in the museum. Being caught off-guard as a regressor must hurt her pride, but I don’t think that is really it.

Her too much trust in the information of the future might become her downfall someday, but that won’t be a problem now. There is no use speculating on what is Nayun thinking right now.

I just cannot help but feel sympathy for her. Among the characters in the novel, she has the most frustrating ending. Sure, a lot of readers hate her for a lot of things, but the author just has to do her dirty.

Let’s see… Dead big brother. Loses her lover. Lover kills brother. Cannot get her lover back. Grandpa has no emotions. Has to confront Grandpa. Learns grandpa is still a family man. Complicated stuff follows. Still a sad girl. Now, she has become the cause of another world regression and possibly a second coming of Baal.

That is just sad. There is no happy ending to her story at all. She has to live through all of that painful memories, and what should be happy memories have also become sad memories. It is just pitiful.

“Well, she is a dumbass… but does being dumb warrant such a bleak ending?”

I mean. She is still dumb for regressing and giving Baal a second chance. But at the back of my mind, I feel like I should thank her. If she doesn’t regress, I believe that I will not be even here. Sigh… It is not like I love being here, but I damn love this novel. The opportunity to meet and greet the novel’s characters is enough consolation for me.

It is a fact— Chae Nayun is dumb, but what she lacks in intelligence, she makes up for self-awareness. I at least like to think that way.

I relax my arms and calm my breathing as I finish my training routine for the day. The automated projectile machine or whatever it is called has a frightening level of accuracy.

I look around, and it seems I am the only student left on the Training Grounds. It seems that Chae Nayun is still in the Gravitation Room.

“Hmmm… Classes are about to start.” I turn to my smartwatch and gaze at the busy Gravitation Room where Nyaun is making a lot of commotion. I cannot see her, but I imagine debris falling everywhere.

“I am a nice guy, so I let her have her training in peace.” I escape the Training Grounds with a peaceful heart. It is not like Nayun will suffer from the absences when she is publicly in the hospital.

Kim Hajin is playing with his smartwatch, strategizing on which stocks to buy first. The future is bleak and changes are happening everywhere. What if the stocks he is so sure of that will rise, will suddenly fall contrary to what he knows?

That will be bad.

After selling a few weaknesses of monsters to Yoenha, he should have enough to buy the stocks he wants with still little money for him to spare. And again, it does not guarantee the safety of his future wealth if that is even a thing.

He can only rely on his Gift, [Observation and Reading], but it is not a surefire way to beat the system.

“The future is bleak.”

It is good to have a lot of money and to be rich. But there is no use to that as he will not even be able to bring his wealth in this world to his old world after he finishes the main story.

After finding the epilogue of this world, he should be able to go home as the co-author promised despite the said co-author being dead. “For a co-author, he sure is an irresponsible one…”

Speaking of wealth, Hajin is earning a lot of SP through his Social Media accounts. His significance in the plot is rising with his popularity. He has his maxed 10/10 luck stat to thank for. His concept in the internet is the luckiest man alive which Hyon Hyung is so confident to advertise.

As much as he wants to credit Hyon Hyung, Hajin believes that his rise in popularity is also because his face is becoming more handsome by the day. His maxed luck stat is truly broken as it even raises his charm stat on a few occasions. While the increase is only in decimals, it will still accumulate with time.

“Hey,” Yoenha approaches him out of the blue. “I confirmed the information you are selling. Your Desert Eagle should arrive later in your dorm room. This is killing me. Are monster weaknesses so easy to learn that just any student can sell them like this?”

“Thank you,” Hajin politely nods at Yoenha’s words. “Can you tell me whom you got the Mountain Tyrant’s weakness?” He is just curious, as from what he knows, it is information that the others are yet to learn.

Perhaps, just like the recurring changes, did the research team studying the Mountain Tyrant learn of its weakness earlier than scheduled?

“No,” Yoenha bluntly refuses while she goes off on her own way to sit beside Jonghak.

Today, Hajin is feeling over the moon. Who will not? After selling three monster weaknesses to Yoenha, he should have the necessary capital now to buy the stocks he wants. Not to mention, he will get a freebie. The Desert Eagle is a gun he has been eyeing at a weapons dealer website, [Essential Armory], one of Essence of the Strait’s businesses. This gun will improve his fighting abilities by several levels.

Hajin feels invincible at the moment.

After that, the theory class naturally begins with the appearance of their professor.
