Chapter 168: Annoying

Liwei was speechless at the comeback. He never thought that the man would be so direct and offensive on their first meeting.
With his eyebrows raised in surprise, Liwei then squinted his eyes and replied, "I didn't catch your name? Yan Yan and I were husb..."
And then Liwei felt that his palm was squeezed harder, as Li Xiqing stepped in and closed the distance in between them. Li Xiqing's low voice growled at him.
"Yan Yan's name is not for you to say, asshole," he tilted his head and glared at Liwei as he continued menacingly, "I don't care what you're trying to do right now, but you better stay away from her life, or I will make you regret for even so much whispering her name," and then Li Xiqing let go off his hand in disgust.
Two pairs of eyes were having a staring showdown; the two men stood face to face with each other. No one wanted to back down first.

Shao Yan felt a headache coming. She knew how stubborn and patient Li Xiqing could get, so this can go on forever. Shao Yan decided to lightly put her hand on Li Xiqing's back, and run it down to his waist to calm him down, "Xiqing, let's go? I'm hungry."
Li Xiqing did not budge the first time she touched him. Nor when she lightly rubbed her hand on his waist.
Shao Yan very much wanted to sigh over his childish attitude. She tried so hard not to smile.
She bit her lower lip and circled one arm around his waist, and said, "I don't want to go home too late. Remember we are meeting Grandma tomorrow."
At the mention of 'Grandma', Liwei was distracted, and quickly cast his glance over to Shao Yan.
Li Xiqing stepped to the side to break his view. Only when Liwei had brought his sight back to him, then Li Xiqing continued to say.
"She is mine. Don't flatter yourself by thinking that she has many things to say about you. I know your kind," and then while still standing in front of Shao Yan; with his body fully shadowed her.
Li Xiqing slowly leaned closer to Liwei so only the two of them could hear what will be said. "You can keep trying. It will only make things easier for me to destroy you," and then he pulled away.
As Li Xiqing turned around, he saw her worried face over him. His eyes gradually turned gentle before he cupped a hand behind her head, "Let's go," and with one arm around her waist, they walked towards Risa and Karl who were still standing next to the couch, waiting for them.
Karl looked at the stunned Liwei, before he followed behind Li Xiqing, and asked him a question in German, "Annoying fly?"
Without turning his head around, and still staring ahead of him, Li Xiqing answered him back, also in German, "Dead. We need to meet with Axel on Monday. I have a plan."

The whole car ride to the restaurant was in awkward silence.
Li Xiqing had his jazz music filled around the car as he drove in silence, still feeling annoyed. One hand was holding the steering wheel, while the other was placed idly on the gear.
Shao Yan had her hand propped against the window, seemingly lost in her thoughts. While Risa and Karl who sat in the back, and kept exchanging glances with one another, trying to think of a way to say something to lighten the mood.
It was finally Shao Yan who breathed a light sigh. She straightened up and reached out to turn down the music volume.
She turned around and then looked at Risa and Karl, "Do you guys want to hit some balls?"
Her abrupt question brought the two of them to be flabbergasted. Karl was not sure if he understood the question correctly, but he was too afraid of Li Xiqing to ask her to repeat the question. His forehead was scrunched as he was debating what to answer her.
Risa, also was not sure if she heard Shao Yan right, so she could only tilt her head and say hesitantly, "Uh. Sure? I guess?"
Shao Yan felt satisfied at her answer; she nodded her head and then turned around to Li Xiqing to say, "Xiqing, let's go to the driving range. Let's hit some rounds."
Li Xiqing turned his head to look at her in surprise. And then his lips gradually curved up.
He changed his lane to exit and started to drive towards the golf course.

"What was that?"
Helen wrapped her hand around Charles' upper arm. Her perfectly manicured fingernails dug deep into his muscles, "Is that her? Your so called ex-wife?"
She tried to shake his arm, but he did not respond to her calling. Charles had his sight glued to the direction of where Shao Yan had disappeared to. He tried to rewind all the scene that had just happened.
"Is that why you were so adamant about taking over this company? Because she is here?" Helen raised her voice and started to press him for an answer.
Helen felt her anger slowly risen up from deep within from being ignored. She lost her self-control and said, "Answer me, you asshole!"
When she heard a cough from the men behind her, Helen was brought back to her senses right away. She slowly scanned around the room, to see that many people were now staring at them.
She raised her chin up, and then started to speak in a low tone, and hissed back at him, "Let's go now. We'll talk in the car," and then she let go of her hold. Helen made a dramatic move of flipping her long, wavy hair to the back and started to walk away; leaving Charles and his scowl mood behind.

"Of course I got it. Who do you think I am?"
"We need to secure this real quick, before she realized that such thing exists. Man! I can't believe we are so in luck!"
In the corner of the lobby, two men in suits were whispering in low voice with each other. They had been watching the scene for a while, starting from when Charles got out of the elevator, and talked to Daniel Li, and then Helen had her outburst towards her own husband.
VP Zhuang and Mr. Xie quickly walked out of the lobby, and got into their own car.

Helen wrapped her hand around Charles' upper arm. Her perfectly manicured fingernails dug deep into his muscles, "Is that her? Your so called ex-wife?"
She tried to shake his arm, but he did not respond to her calling. Charles had his sight glued to the direction of where Shao Yan had disappeared to. He tried to rewind all the scene that had just happened.
"Is that why you were so adamant about taking over this company? Because she is here?" Helen raised her voice and started to press him for an answer.
Helen felt her anger slowly risen up from deep within from being ignored. She lost her self-control and said, "Answer me, you asshole!"
When she heard a cough from the men behind her, Helen was brought back to her senses right away. She slowly scanned around the room, to see that many people were now staring at them.
She raised her chin up, and then started to speak in a low tone, and hissed back at him, "Let's go now. We'll talk in the car," and then she let go of her hold. Helen made a dramatic move of flipping her long, wavy hair to the back and started to walk away; leaving Charles and his scowl mood behind.

"We need to secure this real quick, before she realized that such thing exists. Man! I can't believe we are so in luck!"
In the corner of the lobby, two men in suits were whispering in low voice with each other. They had been watching the scene for a while, starting from when Charles got out of the elevator, and talked to Daniel Li, and then Helen had her outburst towards her own husband.
VP Zhuang and Mr. Xie quickly walked out of the lobby, and got into their own car.
