When the weekend finally came the week after, Li Xiqing had promised Mandy to go to the airport together to pick their parents up. Shao Yan was also invited to go along under special request from Mother Li.

They arrived about thirty minutes before their arrival time. The three of them were standing under the automated information board to check on the Arrival Gate.

"Xiqing, I will go get some warm drinks for all of us," Shao Yan glanced at the clock before continuing, "You just stay here with Mandy. Anyway, the convenience store is only five minutes away."

Li Xiqing scanned the surrounding Terminal area; he was trying to remember the location of the convenience store as they walked in earlier. He nodded, "Alright, be careful."

Shao Yan smiled at the two of them before walking away.

"Qing Qing," Mandy pointed at an empty bench not far from them, "Let's wait there."

The airport was busy today as it was getting close to Lunar New Year. It would be a public holiday for two weeks and it was the most popular time to travel back home for reunion.

They could see that many people around them were also waiting for their family members or friends. Almost everyone was standing outside of the Arrival Gate; excited to be the first to greet their loved ones. In their hands were either bouquets of flowers, snacks or drinks for them to eat on the drive back home.

As soon as the two of them were seated, Mandy took out her mobile phone and started to type, "I should open the airline applications to check on their flight map."

Li Xiqing nodded, "I just checked it, and everything is on track."

But Mandy, being the eldest sister who was always worried on behalf of the whole family, still opened the application and went through it herself.

After playing around with the application for a while, Mandy suddenly exclaimed in joy, "Oh!"

She offered her mobile phone to Li Xiqing, "The plane just landed, look!"

Li Xiqing glanced over and scanned the details on the screen before he nodded, "That's good, and they arrived earlier than scheduled. I will let Yan Yan know as well."

And then he took out his phone and started to type a text message for her.

----------

"There they are!"

After waiting for another twenty minutes, Mandy finally recognized their parents from afar. The two elderlies were pushing the baggage cart after collecting their luggage.

Mandy started waving at them.

At first, Mandy was only using one hand. But due to the crowd around them, she was worried that their parents would not be able to take notice, so she started to raise both of her arms in the air. After a short while, Mother Li finally noticed her daughter; she also waved back with a big smile on her face.

"Mommy!" Mandy shouted excitedly "Daddy!"

Father Li also saw her from afar; his stern facial expression softened when he saw his little girl was calling him with joy.

From a distance, Mother Li also saw her son standing next to Mandy. Another face that she had only been seeing from camera pictures was standing quietly next to him.

A new face and yet so familiar at the same time.

Her eyes brightened up and her smile grew wider. Mother Li could not wait to finally meet the three of them; she unconsciously walked faster.

----------

"Mommy!"

Mandy with her arms wide open walked closer to her mother who had just walked out of the gate.

She threw her arms around Mother Li and squeezed the elder woman into a tight hug. She was missing her mother so dearly.

Mother Li burst into laughter over her childish attitude. This daughter really knew how to warm her heart. They already had video calls almost every day, and yet her daughter's reaction every time they met face to face had always been the same. As if they had been separated for many years.

Mother Li patted her daughter's back, "Ha ha, slow down, Xilin. Look at you, are you going to strangle me now?"

Mandy slowly released her hold around her mother and grinned at her. Whenever her mother called her Chinese name, somehow she would instinctively turn back into that little girl with a ponytail from thirty years or so ago.

Mother Li looked at her daughter as if she was still a baby; she raised her hand to pat her cheek gently. The grin on Mandy's face was growing bigger and happier.

And then she walked to the side and gave the same hug to her father, "Daddy!"

And of course, Father Li being the strict Father Li in front of his daughter, could only pat her back in silent as he smiled. But everyone in the family knew that secretly, his heart was swollen with pride and joy.

"Ma!" Li Xiqing reached over and wrapped his arm around her. The tiny woman looked even more tiny in his embrace.

After he let her go, his hand went to her side and took over the cabin-size luggage that she had been pulling in her hand. "Ma, this is Yan Yan."

----------

Her eyes quickly scanned all over the petite, young lady in front of her.

Tiny face, but she had a healthy, pink blush. Small almond eyes and dainty lips. Small chin and beautiful ivory skin. Good weight overall.

Mother Li nodded in satisfaction.

'Hm,' She finished her thoughts, "Also a good size of hip. Perfect for childbearing. Good. Good!'

Her eyes sparkled when she opened her arms and grabbed Yan Yan into a warm hug.

"Yan Yan. I finally got to meet you."

Shao Yan, who was initially not sure if she should shake Mother Li's hands or give her a hug, was surprised at the warmth that suddenly blanketed her.

Mother Li gently let her go and peeked at Li Xiqing. He was watching the two of them with a small smile.

"Auntie, how are you? My name is Shao Yan," Shao Yan started to say. Her voice was unsure, "Nice to meet you, I hope your journey was fine."

"Good girl, I am fine. Have you been waiting long?" Mother Li reached out to grab one of her hands and patted the back side of it. But she was immediately taken aback, "Yan Yan, why are your hands so cold?"

Mother Li then glanced at Li Xiqing, her gentle eyebrows were quick to scrunch into an unhappy face, "Xiqing, what did I say? Women's bodies can't stand cold."

She patted the back of Shao Yan's palm again, "Look at Yan Yan, what if she catches a cold?"
