Though they were still cautious, a small seed of favorability towards Amber sprouted in the hearts of the knights.

Jeit raised his eyebrows and kept his eyes on Amber as the knights slowly warmed up to her. Even the stubborn Jeit who spent years protecting and serving the duke found himself becoming more favorable towards Amber.

“Now then, knights, depart for battle.” With Kalix’s order, the knights started to leave the castle. The vanguard departed, and the command team with Jeit at the head left last.

Amber approached Jeit before he mounted his horse to leave. “Just a moment, Sir Jeit.”

Kalix and Bella watched Amber with suspicion on their faces, but Amber ignored them and hurriedly stopped Jeit.

“What is it, Mistress?” Jeit asked in a polite manner. Bella’s eyes narrowed in anger and annoyance at his polite greeting.

“I have something I need to tell you about the battle.”

“If it is words of encouragement…”

“No, it’s something else.”

“Something else?” Jeit’s face was filled with doubt.

“Well the thing is…” Amber hesitated. She still wasn’t sure if giving him her knowledge was the right move.

‘He’ll definitely think I’m weird if I tell him, but…’ It didn’t take long for her to move past her hesitation. Having made her decision, Amber stood on her tiptoes towards Jeit. Kalix and Jeit both looked at Amber with doubt and confusion.

Deep in her thoughts, Amber didn’t realize the expressions the two men had. She put her hand to her mouth and spoke with a sincere voice. “Could you lend me your ear for a moment?”

“Excuse me?” Jeit was so surprised that he couldn’t help but let out a confused voice.

“Lend me your ea…” Amber stopped mid way. She finally realized how what she was saying could be interpreted.

A small blush appeared on Amber’s face. However, the things she was about to say were not fit for anyone else’s ears.

In the end, Jeit leaned his head towards Amber. It was an extremely careful movement to ensure his body made no contact with Amber whatsoever..

As Amber whispered to Jeit, she felt a stinging glare directed at the back of her head. She turned around to meet Kalix’s gaze.

‘What’s wrong?’ She tilted her head, confused as to why Kalix would look at her that way.

Kalix didn’t say anything as he stood completely still like a statue. Unable to bear it any longer, Amber was about to call out his name when Kalix turned his head.

“Just why…” Though she wanted to ask why he was acting so strangely, it was neither the time nor place to ask such a question.

Amber simply turned back to Jeit, though his expression was also grim.

Just like Kalix, the expressions on Jeit’s face were hard to discern, but Amber was still able to detect a faint hint of fluster on his face.

“Please go ahead then.”

A moment of silence went by and Jeit moved closer to Amber.

Though it wasn’t as close as earlier, it was still enough to have a private conversation.

“What is the route this subjugation will take?” Amber asked with a quiet voice.

“We will first travel outside the territory and go up the Vanus mountain range. That is where the monsters are. After, we will travel to Tantalum Canyon before making our way back.” Though he was still doubtful, Jeit faithfully answered Amber’s question.

‘So they really are going to Tantalum Canyon.’ After confirming the route they would take for the subjugation was the same as the one in her previous life, took a deep, nervous breath. “I have something I need to tell you.”

“I am listening. Please go ahead.” Jeit still looked confused as he had no idea what Amber could speak in relation to the subjugation sortie.

“The ground of the Tantalum Canyon will be much weaker than last year, so be careful of monster types that hide and attack from underground.” Amber made sure to speak quietly as she quickly informed Jeit in a single breath.
