Anastasia's POV

As the recording of students' rankings commences, I find myself merely observing and gazing at the stadium, unaware that it is now my turn to speak.

I am rendered speechless.

Each race possesses unique powers and abilities derived from their bloodlines, thereby granting them strength.

I aspire to attain a similar level of strength as mortals.

While I do admire those who are strong, I often yearn to be a part of one of the races, as I feel out of place among mortals.

Despite this, I must accept my mortal status and maintain my admiration for those who belong to the races from a distance, acknowledging the natural order of things.

"..."

When I was 10 years old, my grandmother was still alive.

I still vividly remember her words from many years ago, specifically from the year 973.

It was nighttime and I was lying in bed while my grandmother sat in a chair beside me

"Once upon a time, at a certain place. A woman who held great power and was known as the Ruler of the Universe descended to the center of the world, where she created a civilization consisting of various beings such as dryads, fairies, mortals, dwarvens, lamias, beasts, cyclops, centaurs, elves, dullahans, vampires, dragons, giants, merpeople, demons, and angels.

Before giving life to the individuals she created, she infused her world with a power similar to her own.

Furthermore, each being she brought to life inherited their power and abilities through their bloodline.

Once each being was complete, she guided them to their rightful place.

Lastly, she created gods and goddesses as a part of their religious beliefs, for the enrichment of their civilization, and to bless the places they dwelled in.

She bestowed divine power upon these deities along with their guardians. Additionally, she bestowed the sacred element and the book grimoire upon the mortals whose bloodline was that of magicians.

The powers she bestowed upon them were meant to bring harmony and balance to the world, which was previously peaceful, serene, beautiful, and splendid."

"Are there deities for every race then?"

"Yes, that is thanks to the Ruler of the Universe."

"Has anybody ever encountered her grandmother?"

"No, nobody has had the fortune of seeing her as she suddenly vanished.

However, the other deities that she created eventually betrayed her.

They influenced every person she created to engage in wicked acts and misuse their powers, leading to the destruction of the world.

These rebellious deities communicated their malevolent intentions through dreams and even created monstrous creatures.

This saddened and angered her since these deities she had created were responsible for making the world a grim place.

The individuals she brings to life undergo their own transformations due to the negative influence of other malevolent deities. In the midst of this, she creates the Mixquen, a being with a face closely resembling her own, representing a combination of various races."

"Grandmother, could you please provide an explanation of the Mixquen?"

"It was a formidable race comprised of individuals with diverse characteristics from various races.

The Mixquen encompassed traits from different races, creating a unique blend.

The purpose of this creation is to fight for the deities who have betrayed and turned their backs on her.

However, the plan is halted by the remaining loyal deities who advise her to entrust everything to them and depart from the world, observing it from afar for their sake.

She follows the good deities until she vanishes, never to return again, as the world undergoes changes across generations.

The beings she has created separate from one another and become resentful towards the other gods and goddesses who betrayed the Ruler of the Universe.

The virtuous deities engaged in a battle against the malevolent deities from another dimension, but unfortunately, they were unable to emerge victorious.

Subsequently, the creation known as the mixquen, brought into existence by the Ruler, was manipulated by the malevolent deities, resulting in its theft and the subsequent affliction of the world with wickedness.

Once a place of beauty, the world now lies in ruins, drenched in bloodshed.

The benevolent deities established a collective of individuals selected as the chosen ones, tasked with the protection of the populace against malevolent entities. Furthermore, the benevolent deities summoned an individual from the mortal realm through a divine vision, anointing him as the divine emissary of the gods.

Consequently, they appealed to all deities, requesting that they bestow upon every individual the power to combat and protect themselves.

However, the other virtuous deities harbored doubts about entrusting power to the mortal and races, as they had already succumbed to the influence of the malevolent forces.

Nevertheless, the apostle of the gods and the chosen-ones sought to prove the innocence of the mortal and races, expressing a willingness to sacrifice themselves once they had triumphed over the mixquen.

Ultimately, the apostle eradicated the mixquen, losing their own life in the process.

From that point forward, as long as individuals approached with sincerity, seeking power for righteous purposes, the virtuous deities listened to their pleas.

The apostle of the gods and the chosen-ones, who always spoke the truth, united the virtuous deities, enabling the cultivation of mystical power bestowed upon individuals through dreams."

"Does the Mixquen still exist?"

"No, the Mixquen no longer exists as it was eradicated and made to disappear by them. The remaining chosen-ones fulfill their destinies managed to persevere and disseminate their talents across the globe, continuing to assist humanity with their creation abilities."

"The god of the apostle and the chosen-ones must have been incredibly powerful."

"Yes, although the deities had already granted mystical powers to the people. However, the founders of the organization opposed their efforts and ultimately terminated their existence, but the others survive and hide themselves."

"That's so scary. Then, what happened to the Ruler of the World?"

"The Ruler of the Universe has mysteriously disappeared, and despite attempts to locate her, she has yet to return.

Other deities await her arrival. However, if she were to descend to the world, she would conceal herself, possibly in another body, and the powers bestowed upon her would become ineffective."

"Grandmother, you seem to possess extensive knowledge, even without relying on written stories."

"I have acquired knowledge through the passing down of oral tradition, as well as being personally involved in significant events. Anastasia, although you are still young, it is important for you to gain knowledge and also pass on this story to the right person."

"I solemnly pledge to tell this story to the right person."

"Yes──"

*Cough! *Cough

"G-Grandmother!?"

I abruptly positioned myself on the bed and anxiously observed her; my grandmother is truly elderly, exhibiting wrinkled skin, thinning purple hair, drooping purple eyes, and a diminishing physique. She frequently falls ill.

I summoned the maids to assist her.

Despite my strong desire to delve into the narrative, I immediately put it aside in my thoughts.

Instead, I wholeheartedly attend to her needs.

This persisted until the day I always spent with her.

"..."

Upon the fateful day of discovering her demise, I was faced with the startling realization that she had departed from this world, a fate I never anticipated.

"..."

During the night, tears streamed down my face as I stood before her resting place, alongside my grandfather, both of them, my beloved grandparents, now departed.

Nonetheless, her physical features constitute what I have inherited, which is sufficient for me, even if it pains me to lose the love of my life.

In my youth, I once naively believed that age and existence were inconsequential, and that one's worth was solely based on external appearances.

Alas, my younger self was tragically misguided and lacking in wisdom.

As I mature and simultaneously acquire knowledge, Mixquen and the Ruler of the Universe still occupy my thoughts, but they no longer hold great significance to me.

I simply allow it to be.

Though I have not totally moved on, I contemplate the notion of 'It would be acceptable if the mortal became immortal.'
