For a moment, Li Xi couldn’t figure out what was wrong. However, he didn’t dwell on it, and neither did he overthink it. He led everyone to the deserted island.

Because they were cooperating, someone on the island was keeping watch. Upon seeing a group of mermaids swimming over, they quickly stood up to greet them, but it was evident they were there for Li Xi, “Why are you back so soon? Is something wrong?”

“I found the witch and clarified the method,” Li Xi explained briefly, “Call the others out, and let’s discuss it together.”

His eyes rolled around, wanting to quickly check if Duan Zhen was still upset.

Probably not, but with so many people around, the other party surely couldn’t confront him.

There should be a unique way of communication in the human camp. In no time, four people rushed over from different directions.

“Is this the witch?” Duan Zhen saw the anomaly among the mermaids at a glance.

“Yes,” Li Xi nodded, “Accidentally discovered.”

He certainly wouldn’t mention that it happened because he had touched Duan Zhen and tumbled around foolishly underwater.

The small octopus half-hid behind Li Xi, sneakily looking at Duan Zhen, unable to resist asking, “Is he the person you like?”

Everyone present was taken aback.

Li Xi, however, openly confirmed, “Yes, I went to find the potion for him.”

The small octopus pursed his lips, “Except for being good-looking, he’s just an ordinary human…”

He was glared at by Li Xi and didn’t say the remaining words. He lowered his head with a touch of grievance.

All eyes shifted between the three of them, vaguely feeling the tension.

Li Xi remained unperturbed, “What are you looking at? Haven’t you heard of love at first sight?”

Duan Zhen found it somewhat amusing. After Li Xi’s words fell, he sensed a bit of hostility coming from different individuals, vividly illustrating the concept of “disaster brought by beauty.”

“This seaweed, when consumed with mermaid bodily fluids, allows you to enter the deep sea without being crushed by pressure,” Li Xi distributed the blue-purple seaweed to others, keeping Duan Zhen’s portion in his hands.

He intentionally omitted the part about eating it with scales.

“How much do we need?” Duan Zhen asked casually, still holding onto the anticipation.

“Three drops are enough,” the small octopus replied.

Li Xi pretended to be weak, “But bleeding is painful.”

Duan Zhen glanced at the group of people already starting to bleed, “I can find…”

“No!” Li Xi interrupted him, eyes revealing a hint of uncontrollable anger, “You can’t drink others’ blood.”

He couldn’t accept Duan Zhen having someone else’s scent on him. Getting close to him as an ordinary person and respecting his wishes was already the limit for Li Xi. If, in front of him, Duan Zhen were to drink someone else’s blood or perform other intimate actions, Li Xi didn’t know what he would do.

To be honest, after becoming a Demon Lord, Li Xi’s temper became much more irritable than before. However, the noble upbringing he received since childhood helped him suppress his dark side.

Duan Zhen looked at him, seeming to be taken aback for a moment, and his brows furrowed slightly. “Are you angry?” he asked.

Li Xi pursed his lips. “No.”

Realizing that he had been too obvious, he took a deep breath to calm himself, suppressing his anger.

“You can also drink blood.” Li Xi extended his finger. “Bite it yourself.”

The fingertip was white and soft, and no one had the heart to hurt him. Besides, biting hurts much more than cutting with a knife, and Duan Zhen couldn’t bear to do it.

As a child throwing a tantrum, he couldn’t join in.

Duan Zhen’s gaze swept over the other mermaids, and his intuition told him that if he went to find others, Li Xi would really get angry, and it would be the kind of anger that was difficult to soothe.

“Biting hurts a lot.” Duan Zhen sighed, crouching down to meet Li Xi’s eyes. His voice was gentle. “You’re like my little brother. How can I bite you?”

If only the second half of the sentence had been said, Li Xi would be happy now, but the part about being like a little brother felt like a thorn in his throat.

“I’m not your brother.” Li Xi’s hair stood on end, and he fiercely bit his finger, letting the rust-like taste spread in his mouth.

Mermaids have sharp teeth, and he used quite a bit of force. Blood surged out of the wound and dripped into the water.

“Why did you…” Duan Zhen didn’t expect him to do this, hesitating for a moment before hurriedly scooping up Li Xi’s hand. “Does it hurt?”

“It hurts,” Li Xi said, extending his finger forward and staring at him with a direct gaze. “Hurry up and lick it. Don’t waste it.”

As the Demon King, his blood also contained a lot of spiritual power. Giving a few drops to lower beings would be enough to enhance their intelligence and advance their evolution. Now, with this drop of blood entering the water, it immediately attracted unintelligent fish and shrimp.

The little octopus had been following him all along, and when he saw that Li Xi didn’t pay attention to him, he quietly sneaked underwater.

The blood, still undissolved in the water, sank like pearls. The little octopus opened its mouth and drank all the droplets, narrowing its eyes in satisfaction.

Power surged within its body, and he could feel that it was getting closer to adulthood.

And this was just the effect of a few drops of blood.

Emerging from the water, the octopus saw Li Xi forcing his finger into Duan Zhen’s mouth, the man looking slightly distressed but still cooperating by gently closing his mouth around Li Xi’s finger. The blood, with its strong rust-like aroma, was licked clean by Duan Zhen’s moist and gentle tongue, which carefully avoided the wound. Seeing the sharp tooth marks that were deep enough to reveal bone, Duan Zhen’s heart couldn’t help but tighten. “Why did you bite so hard?”

Li Xi’s anger had disappeared when Duan Zhen took his finger into his mouth, especially when he felt Duan Zhen carefully avoiding the wound, and the moist and gentle tongue sliding lightly over his fingertip…

His face turned extremely red. Smelling his words, he sniffled, pulled Duan Zhen’s hand, and placed it on his face, whispering, “I didn’t want to, but I was so angry just now, and now my finger hurts.”

“I didn’t realize you were so impulsive before,” Duan Zhen sighed. “Wait until we get into the sea; the saltwater will make the wound even more painful.”

“If Brother Duan is willing to kiss me, there would have been no need for biting fingers,” Li Xi mumbled.

Helpless, Duan Zhen reached out to touch his hair, looking at that exquisite face, refraining from saying the ‘you’re still too young’ out loud.

After a pause, he ate the seaweed in his hand, pretending as if nothing had happened just now.

However, Li Xi caught that moment of hesitation, immediately guessing that his current appearance played a role. A faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

“Let’s eat the seaweed and set off,” he cleared his throat. “Pair up, I’ll go with Brother Duan.”

After saying this, regardless of others’ opinions, he pulled Duan Zhen and swam underwater.

The little octopus followed closely. He passed Li Xi, and his gaze lingered on Duan Zhen.

Duan Zhen keenly sensed hostility, even a hint of murderous intent. He turned his head to look at the little octopus, just catching a glimpse of the lingering coldness in its eyes.

As he saw the little octopus looking back at him, there was no attempt to conceal the hostility. Its jet-black eyes were like an unfathomable abyss.

Seeing this, Duan Zhen was certain it wanted to kill him.

Li Xi sensed the killing intent and glanced at the little octopus. “What do you want to do?”

The little octopus blinked innocently, returning to its shy and cute appearance. “Nothing.”

“Better be that way,” Li Xi stared at it. “Brother Duan is not someone you can mess with.”

The warning in his tone was too obvious, and the little octopus looked gloomy. “I know. Why would I do anything to the person you like?”

He tentatively poked Li Xi’s arm with one tentacle, then affectionately rubbed against him. “I hope you can find happiness.”

So… it would be better for that guy who enjoys Li Xi’s love but doesn’t respond to just die. But before that, he would figure out why Li Xi liked that person.

The little octopus swallowed the latter half of the sentence and looked at Li Xi with a smiling face.

Li Xi responded with a cold “hmph” and turned his head to continue swimming forward.

Duan Zhen felt him tightening his grip on his hand and turned to look at him. He found Li Xi’s lips were pale, so he patted him reassuringly with his other hand. When their eyes met, he silently mouthed, “Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”

Akjsdksjsdk, naughty little octopus! I’m guessing he’s gonna be a problem later on :>

Also, Li Xi was so cute being annoyed at seeing the chance of getting a kiss slip away hehe~
