Chapter hundred and six: sometimes I want to chain you
The little restraint Alexander summoned earlier when he decided that his wife took the risk because she missed him slowly slipped away. She had risk her life and disregarded decades old tradition for a knight.
Alexander moved threatening towards her and she took a step back and another step and another step until she had no where to go other than the bed. Jamie climbed on top of the bed and stared back at the man starring at her with a murderous look.
"Alexander" She called out his name softly like she was warning him to calm down.
Alexander stepped on the bed with her and moved closer. Jamie finally ran out of spaces to crawl into.
"Alexander" She called his name again.
Alexander stopped. He moved away from her. He went to the wooden wardrobe and opened it. Jamie had no idea what he was doing except that she was apprehensive about it.
"Alexander" she called his name for the third time.
He turned and she first heard the sound before she saw the golden chains. Alexander threw them on the bed.
"Alexander, what are you doing?" Jamie asked him again.
"Will you put it on or should I do it for you?" He asked in his gruff voice.
After yesterday, he thought he would never ask her to put on the chains again but something evil in him, something he couldn't explain enjoys seeing her squirm and unable to move. He always allowed her to see it as his way of punishing her but in truth, it was one of the things that turned him on. The only exception was when he chained her after he shot her, that was to keep her from running and had nothing to do with his sexual preference.
"Alexander, we don't have time for time. We need to talk about Judd" Jamie tried to reason with him.
But he was beyond reason, even his wolf purred in anticipation. Alexander blinked, it wasn't too late to back down. This was the can of worms, he shouldn't open. Jamie might freak out if she finds out that he was not the run of the mill alpha male with the run of the mill sexual preference. She might think he was odd and cursed.
"Alexander, we need..." Jamie stopped talking. She took a breathe and picked up the chain, they were wasting valuable time they should spend discussing about Judd. The chains made a click-click sound as she gathered them closer to herself. "Fine, I will put the stupid chain on. Can we talk afterwards?"
"Yes!" Alexander answered a little too eagerly. His whole body filled with anticipation.
"May I know why you are punishing me by making me where the damned chains?" Jamie asked him as she chained her left leg and her right leg together.
Alexander didn't want to talk. He just wanted to bask in the feeling of euphoria and watch her do it.
"You have to ask? You made me hit the woman I am sworn to protect...my wife and you broke decades old tradition"
Was he voice different? Alexander cleared his throat. Of course not, his voice wasn't different. It wasn't a little bit high and unsteady...right?
He cleared his throat again.
"But I like it when we fought as equals. We should do it often and again, Alexander" Jamie was temporarily reminded of the joy she felt while they fought.
"More doing... less talking, Janessa"
Alexander hated that she was reminding him of the unfortunate event that happened earlier.
Jamie took one chain placed one end on her hand and the other on the bed post.
Then she realized, it was impossible to finish the task. She only attached the last chain to her hand and let out a breath.
"A little help please" Jamie showed the dangling chain to Alexander.
Alexander moved closer to her. This can go only two ways, chain her to the bed post and pleasure her until she begs him to have real intercourse with her or let her go and avoid the temptations and stop torturing himself.
Alexander moved closer and took her hand. For a second or two, he ran his finger on the chain and what seemed like an extensive debate within himself, he took off the chain.
"What are you doing?" Jamie was puzzled. She had no idea what was happening "I thought you wanted to punish me, your highness"
The fact that she called it a punishment was enough to take Alexander's mood away.
"Go home, Monisha"
"Wait! No!"
But Alexander was already undoing her hardwork. Jamie was relieved but it didn't solve anything. Judd was still going to die.
With the chains gone now, Jamie was able to move freely.
Alexander turned away to pick up his bow and arrows and set to leave when Jamie hugged him from behind.
"Don't leave. Stay with me"
Alexander stopped. He also let out a breath. The singular act tugged at the very human part of his heart. It softened him and even better, it took away the anger of the earlier fight.
He turned around and hugged her. Label him a pushover but he was grateful for this moment. The moment he would forever remember in their journey of being the version of themselves as a couple. The time she had asked him to stay with her.
Leaning towards her just a little bit, he took her lips. As he kissed her he felt the passion of the simple act. She didn't resist or turn him away. She simply kissed him back.
Jamie wondered when she started looking forward to time like this. Time when she was the only person he saw. The only person that mattered to him. The time when he stopped being the domineering man that took her away from home and be the man she enjoyed spending time with.
The man that taught her how to pleasure lips. Jamie kissed him back. It was difficult to accept that she was beginning to develop something close to actual liking for him but she was getting there. It would be easier to accept.
So now, she made up her mind that she would not fight the attraction anymore. She would enjoy everything he gave and learn everything he taught and if she ever saw the chance to escape, she would but she couldn't deny that there was a tiny part of her that didn't want to see that chance. A ridiculous part that was okay as a hostage as long as she could have bits and bits of the devil.
"I don't care that you don't miss me. I miss you, Monisha"
Jamie thought about it. It was true even though they were just together yesterday and it was dawning on her that she missed him too.
"I lied. I missed you too and now that I have said it. You have to teach me how to be a better fighter "
Alexander chuckled. His woman would make a good leader since she was always use every little bit of advantage she has.
"Teach me how to fight, Alexander"
Alexander thought about it for a minute. If she could use this time to her advantage, well so would he.
"I can do that for you but there is someone I like you to meet"
Alexander felt uncertain and a little bit reluctant to tell Jamie about the seer. But this seemed like a good time to do it anyway.
"Who do you want me to meet?" Jamie queried and silently prayed it wasn't going to be one of his stuck up relative.
"Well, I believe I should let you know why I forced Semeen to work for you" Alexander prayed silently that he won't come to regret trusting her with such secret.
"Well, tell me!" It was one question Jamie always wanted an answer to.
"Because I needed a very good excuse for her to be in the castle as frequent as she has to be...."
Jamie hated the suspense.
"Alexander just tell me already"
"Okay, Semeen and I with a handful of knights have been illegally rescuing slaves from the south"
Jamie knew he had just trusted her with a very sensitive and potentially destructive news. The western hemisphere had since abolished war slavery but the other hemispheres, still condoned slavery. If Alexander was setting them free it was grounds for war but it made Jamie realize that the devil of Aradale may actually be an angel. But most importantly, she was glad he told her.
"Thank you" she whispered.
"For what?"
"For telling me, so any recent resuces?"
"Yes, Monisha. Two days ago we rescued three dozen of them and stash them at Lady Lucinda May's house. I want us to go there and I want to introduce you to this little blind boy who wants to meet you"
Alexander may not have told her the whole truth but he was relieved to tell just parts.
"Okay. I will go with you"
Alexander smiled and touched her cheeks. Jamie cleared her throat "Now about Judd?"
