Chapter hundred and seven: Now, about Judd?

"What about Judd?" Alexander queried like had no clue what she was talking about.

Jamie let out a breathe. Her husband was playing coy with her and it was beginning to get on her nerves.

"Are you going to order for his execution, your highness?" Jamie was straightforward now.

She straightened her posture to brace for the bad news and to look strong when she pleads on the Knight's behalf.

"What other option do I have? Only an idiot would manhandle a Queen. A Queen regnant for Thor's sake, what the hell am I supposed to do? Appear weak by pardoning him or kill..." Alexander's voice trailed off for just a little bit.

"Kill your friend?" Jamie completed for him.

Alexander looked at her like she had gone mad. Judd wasn't his friend, he was...he was his subject.

"I am King. I don't have friends. I have Allies and enemies. Judd is my knight and my shadow"

"He is your friend, Alexander. It's why it's affecting you so much" Jamie told him.

Alexander sat on the bed. He was quiet for sometime. His Queen was right. It was affecting him.

Alexander let out a breathe. He thought earlier that if he didn't think much of it then it wouldn't affect him so much but now, his wife was forcing him to confront the notion that Judd might not be there tomorrow because he assaulted a Queen regnant.

"I don't know what to do, Jamie. I have no idea what to do"

Alexander admitted to the Queen. It was the most vulnerable thing he had ever said or did. He just left his heart exposed and unprotected.

Jamie touched his shoulder. She knew his delimma wasn't an easy one. He could either choose to kill his shadow or leave his kingdom open for attack.

"Spare Judd, mercy can be a show of strength sometimes"

Alexander stood up. Mercy was a show of weakness and he wasn't weak. He needed another solution and fast.

"If they were betrothed and promised to be married then it wouldn't be disasterous!" Alexander said off hand.

But like water slowly filling dry land, Jamie found a better way.

"That is it! We have a solution. We just have to get Judd and Eileen to accept each other as husband and wife....a Queen and her consort. I mean, how hard can it be?" Jamie's eyes sparkle with excitement.

It was like a weight off of her shoulders until Alexander spoke.

"Luther Judd is my shadow. He can't simply resign from the lead knight position? It's a commitment ended by death. He can't be a Queen's Consort and if I know Judd well enough, he would rather die than be a consort to a Queen"

Jamie knew that feeling well enough. It wasn't easier to be uprooted from one's home to a foreign kingdom in the name of marriage. But at least he wasn't getting kidnapped.

"Well, good thing you are King. Release Judd from his commitment or find way for him to remain lead knight and a Queen's Consort" Jamie advised.

"And Eileen?" Alexander asked.

Jamie let out a breathe. She had her work cut out for her.

"I will talk to the Queen of Koi. Worry about getting Judd to accept. I have to go back to the castle"

Jamie stood up and so did Alexander. He watched her hair, cut so short it could be mistaken for a lad.

"I know my hair looks awful" Jamie criticized before Alexander did it for her.

"It's suits you actually. I like it I think" Alexander ran his finger through her hair.

"Really?" Jamie sounded puzzled.

"Yes but you probably shouldn't cut anymore off" Alexander advised her playfully.

Jamie smiled and moved closer to him. She kissed his cheek. As she was about to pull away, he grabbed her waist and pulled her closer. He sat down on the bed forcing her to sit on his lap.

"What are you doing?"

"I am sitting down with my wife. Do you have any problem with that?" Alexander had a smile on his face.

Jamie traced his jawline with her finger. She always wanted to do that especially the first time she saw him.

"No" She whispered to him.

Alexander kissed her on the lips. If Jamie could read his mind, she would hear him wondering when she would allow him to make her his forever but instead Alexander kissed her again.

"I should get you back to the castle, Monisha. I have a hunt to go to and a knight to have a conversation I never thought I would have"

Jamie stood up from his thigh. She had work to do too.

"Will you come to my Chamber, tonight?"

"No. I have to stay in the forest like everyone else but we will take that trip to Trinity after I declare my lead knight married against his will"

Alexander touched her cheek and watched her lips momentarily before he bent down and kissed her one last time.

He wondered how hard it would be to tell her he was a werewolf. Will she accept him or will she expose him to the rest of the world?

Alexander knew one thing for sure, this wasn't a risk, he was willing to take.

He opened the door and ushered her out into the darkness. He had no horse to take them back to the castle and even if he did he won't risk it. It was pitch black outside and he had no lamp.

"It's too dark" Jamie complained to him.

But Alexander could see clearly. His vision was impeccable. He could see things a mile away thanks to his wolf.

"Give it time, your eyes will adjust but in the mean time, hold on to me tightly"

Jamie did. Maybe she did it to avoid falling and breaking her neck.. But there was also a small chance that she did it because she didn't want to let him go to begin with.
