Chapter hundred and thirty two: Convincing Jamie
Jamie would rather stay in bed in his arms but if he believes he had the ability to change into an animal then she had to see it for herself or get help for him.
Either way, she won't abandon him in a time of need.
Her feet wasn't blistered anymore and she could walk fairly well but Jamie still felt the chills from her attempt murder/ wake up party and the idea that she was going to be on a horse, traveling at a speed that encouraged cold air to bite through her lungs was less than palatable yet she refused to say anything about not going.
They opened the door and started walking down the hallway that led to the stable but for some reason, Alexander walked behind her. Jamie turned to look at him but all she got from him was a smile.
Alright! This was awkward, the greatest king on the earth was treating her like he was her bodyguard. It was like a bad ending waiting to happen.
Jamie stopped walking. Her lips tightly pressed together and after rolling her eyes in annoyance, she turned around to face him.
"What are you doing?" Her voice was normal, the only thing displaying her anger was the way her lips moved to the side as she talked.
"Nothing. Just keep walking" Alexander told her.
"Are you walking behind me so I don't try to escape again? I don't know whether you've heard but my father is a beast of many colors. I don't want anything to do with him, I don't plan to escape anytime soon"
Because Alexander was obviously taller, Jamie had to look up like she was yelling at a tree...an unfeeling tree.
Alexander was starting to irritate her.
"Monisha, I know you don't want to escape but you can still fall down and break your neck. Let's not forget about what happened the last time you were outside?" Alexander said again.
Jamie wondered which one annoyed her the most. The smile on his face that for once wasn't mocking her or the fact that he reminded her of the incident that happened few weeks ago. The same incident that made her husband end up carrying her like a baby.
Jamie smiled. It was fake.
"Oh Alex!" Jamie touched his shoulder and pulled it so she could speak directly into his ear "Quit following me behind or I am going to do something stupid like kick the king of the castle and a beloved husband in the 'tosh'...that is in-between your legs"
Alexander turned around and kissed her.
That wasn't the reaction she was expecting. Now, she was frustrated.
But at least she likes that he was kissing her in public again.
"Alexander please, stop treating me like I am fragile.... please"
Alexander shrugged and walked ahead of her.
"Okay. All you had to do was ask!"
He yelled so she could hear.
Jamie stomped her foot and walked hastily to catch up with him "But I asked!"
"No...you threatened me, sweetheart don't you know by now that I don't respond well to threats?" Alexander replied.
Jamie finally caught up with him and instead of arguing further, she simply held his hand.
"I will try to threaten you less, dear" Jamie told him.
Alexander knew it was nearly impossible but he squeezed her hand gently.
"So, the best endearing name you could find for me is dear?" Alexander stopped and looked at her.
"What do you want me to call you? My love? My liege? My world?" Jamie was mocking him just a little bit.
"No....his royal handsomeness, will do just fine"
Jamie's laughter echoed through the entire hallway. Alexander wanted to laugh too but he also watched her. And she wasn't behaving like someone that was recently told that she was married to a werewolf.
She was in denial.
"Jamie, I didn't lie. I am really a werewolf. I want you to be prepared for anything you will see in the waste land or dead zone as it's fondly called. Even when Semeen changes into a wolf, don't be afraid. She is still your friend and she is sworn to protect you"
Alexander read her countenance but nothing changed at all.
"Don't worry, Alexander"
Jamie wanted to add that she will get him the help he deserved but she didn't. She didn't want to upset him.
Soon they were on a horse racing through a narrow path. Alexander's body kept most of the cold wind away from her but still she felt chilly.
"Are we there yet?" Jamie asked him.
"Not yet but soon"
Alexander didn't lie. Soon they were walking up a small mountain that first looked deserted but then it became known.
It was a dwelling with houses and playgrounds and a lot more.
The horse slowed down considerably as people started to gather and bowing to them. Alexander came down and helped Jamie achieve the same.
"These are the people you rescued from the South" it was a statement but it also sounded like a question.
"Yes" Alexander answered her.
Jamie was distracted by a little girl of about six years of age, she was pulling her by the helm of her dress.
Jamie lowered herself to be the same height as the little girl.
"Hello, what is your name?"
"Moonie" The girl answered.
"That's a beautiful name, Moonie" Jamie gave the little girl a smile.
"I am an Alpha too just like my father. He is Alpha Brake. You are pretty!" The girl smiled showing a dimple.
"Well, so are you Moonie"
Jamie would have stayed down but Alexander took her hand and they entered a bigger house.
Jamie was glad to see a familiar face in Semeen but the rest of the six people sitting there were all strangers to her.
As soon as Semeen saw the Luna, she stood up from the place she was sitting and she came closer to Jamie.
(I am glad you are alright, Luna Janessa. We were all worried)
Jamie heard what she said even though Semeen didn't move her lips. It was the weirdest thing she had ever come across.
"Wait, you said something to me but not out loud!" Jamie almost yelled "But that doesn't prove anything. It must be a result of my fault powers"
"No, Luna. Everyone here can communicate without talking. It is done through a channel called the mind link but somehow andI can't explain it, you are able to" Semeen was interrupted by Blake.
"Even though she is human!" Blake seemed genuinely annoyed at that particular fact.
"Everyone!" Alexander yelled and everybody became calm. "I brought the Queen here so I can convince her that we are a pack...her pack and she is Luna even though she is human like commander Blake kindly pointed out with passion. So, let's show her!"
Semeen seemed to be the only one calm enough to explain everything to Jamie.
"Since you were gone, we've rescued and merged with four more packs. The western hemisphere pack is now officially the biggest and most powerful werewolves pack on earth. And you are our Luna, you are Alpha's mate"
Jamie nodded like she understood a word of what Semeen was saying.
"Hmm-uhhm"
"Do you understand what I just said?" Semeen asked her.
"Yeah, sure. Everyone here is an animal and I have the supernatural power to hear your thoughts and he is something called Alpha and I am his mate. Even though I strongly hate the word mate, since it depletes me as a breeding cow too" Jamie said and blinked twice.
Semeen moved closer to Alexander's side. "I don't think she believed me"
"No kidding!" Alexander said sarcastically. "Just show her your wolf and let's get it over with"
Semeen seemed uncomfortable about that suggestion.
"The council should be informed first, Wolf king" Semeen informed him.
"Alright" Alexander nodded "One of you should transform into a wolf to convince my wife!" Alexander yelled at everyone.
Semeen shook her head, it wasn't what she had in mind when she made the suggestion.
"Are you sure?" Blake asked.
"We've never changed for a human!" Andrew said.
Many more spoke but Alexander overruled them with an irritated look and nobody spoke again.
"Semeen, you are up. Can you hurry up and change already?!" Alexander said nonchalantly.
"Yes, Alpha" Semeen turned to Jamie "Don't be afraid, remember it's still me"
Jamie rolled her eyes. It was a moment of truth. The faster she proved these delusional people are wrong, the faster she can get help for her husband.
Semeen moved away from her and she started wolfing out. First thing that caught Jamie's attention was the crackling sound her bones made. The she became hairy, then she jumped and she was a wolf.
Jamie didn't remember how it started but she knew she was screaming on top of her lungs in the middle. That type of scream that most people in the room covered their ears with their index fingers.
"Ahhhh!"
"Janessa, stop screaming. You will give yourself a headache" Alexander tried to stop her from screaming but she took a step back and her hand was cut by a naive Alpa blade by the corner of the room and it drew blood.
"Jan....oh bloody hell" Alexander realized too late that he was changing into a wolf too.
"You!" Jamie's eyes popped in horror and she simply fainted.
"Oh bloody hell!" Max cursed.
