Chapter hundred and forty six: Face it or run 2.

Semeen couldn't figure out why people were running towards the back of the Castle. Elliott was following her right behind as they had just finished yet another fight.

So far no one has won yet since it always ended in a tie. She had no idea whether Elliot was holding back or she was.

All she knew was that she enjoyed fighting with him.

But now as they walked through the hallway, to join the rest of the royal families in the dining hall as Elliott had invited her to be his partner, Semeen couldn't help but notice the ruckus that was going on.

Picking up the helm of the dress she was wearing, she almost started running towards the commotion. If the castle was under attack then she had to protect the Alpha and his mate.

When Semeen got there, she froze temporarily. Wait, something was wrong somewhere. Because there was no way Luther Judd was fighting with his Highness King Alexander of Aradale, who he was supposed to be protecting.

But it was either she was hallucinating or Luther had his arm around the King's neck and he was strangling him. Semeen looked around to know people who were present and she saw both the Queens yelling at the men and then they were quiet.

She also saw Blake and he was not doing anything to stop the two men.

"What's going on here?" Semeen asked Blake

"I don't know. I just got here" Blake shrugged like he was saying, 'leave me alone to watch what I am watching'

"Is anyone going to stop them?!" Semeen yelled but she was looking at Elliott.

"Why are you looking at me?" Elliott asked with widened eyes.

"Stop them!" Semeen threw her hands up in the air.

"Are you crazy?! One giant, I can deal with but separating two that looks like they want to kill each other is a sucide mission. I am staying put" Elliott answered her.

Semeen rolled her eyes.

"Queen Eileen?" Semeen looked at Judd's wife.

"I don't mind. My husband is winning" Eileen answered and started eating the berries she was holding.

Semeen grabbed Jamie's hand and squeezed it to get her attention.

"Luna, help me stop them!"

"Relax, Semeen...they are just talking" Jamie answered with a smile.

Semeen blinked, there were three things that could be happening right now. One, she was hallucinating, two, everyone was hallucinating or three, they just invented a new talking technique that involved using fists and no one told her.

Either way, Judd was Alexander's most loyal protector and strangling the King was the opposite of protecting.

"Queen Jamie…"

"Don't worry Semeen, Eileen is wrong. My husband is winning"

"I don't mind" Eileen shrugged and kept eating.

Semeen turned around in time to see the king slam his elbow into Judd repeatedly until his grip on his neck reduced in time for Alexander to stomp on Judd's feet.

"Coward!" Alexander muttered under his breath.

"I said shut up!" Judd retaliated with a kick to his ribs. Alexander heard something crack.

"You are dead!" He threatened and spat out blood on the ground.

He was done holding back and the only way to get to the truth was to push back.

The king threw a punch that landed and broke Judd's nose and blood came out too.

"They are making each other bleed!" Semeen yelled.

Jamie's face looked like she was in pain. She was affected by Alexander's pain. That kick to the ribcage must have hurt Alexander very badly.

"They need this. They have to figure out a way to talk to each other and an audience is not helping them" Jamie said and turned around to yell at everyone watching.

"Everyone should go away!" Jamie pointed towards the exit.

Semeen and Blake left first, followed by Walters. Elliott remained rooted to the spot like the yelling didn't apply to him.

"Elle, get lost!"

"Jamie, this is not the west. I give the orders here" Elliott reminded his sister.

"Get. Lost. Elliott!" Jamie hated that he was exerting his authority at the wrong moment.

"Make me" he whispered.

"How about I tell Semeen what happened when you were a teenager, Elle?" Jamie went with blackmail.

"Tattletale!" Elliott jeered at her.

"Bed wetter!" Jamie jeered back.

"It was once!" Elliott walked away furiously.

"Are you always like that with your brother?" Eileen asked her as they both walked away.

"Yes, when he is not trying to snap my neck. Don't worry, we love each other. We just don't know how to show it like Alexander and Rosemund, who hug and kiss each other's cheek. In the house of Namura, we do threats and blackmail" Jamie explained to her.

"I have two older brothers. None of them paid any attention to me. There were no hugs or kisses, blackmail or threats. They simply didn't want anything to do with the daughter of the woman who replaced their mother even though my mother died during childbirth. For me, it was a cold silent childhood where I didn't matter and my feelings meant nothing" Eileen looked up at Jamie.

"I think it is why Luther's behavior bugs me so much. I didn't know I would be stuck with a husband who ignored my feelings like my family did. I used to console myself, when I was younger that even though I might have had a lonely childhood, my marriage would be different...warmer. Joke's on me, right?" Eileen picked up the helm of her dress and she walked faster away from Jamie.

Jamie stood there for a moment. Now, she was worried about Eileen too.

She wondered whether Alexander and Judd were still fighting.

Alexander saw a chance to win by disabling Judd's knee but he didn't take it. Instead he stopped and stared at him.

"I am not fighting you anymore, Judd"

"Then I will kill you!" Judd threatened.

"Go ahead, I am done fighting with you. Tell me what happened on the day that we were ambushed?" Alexander asked him.

"No. Fight or die" Judd replied.

"I don't like those options, Luther. We are friends. We are family, you said so yourself" Alexander reminded him.

"You killed my father!"

Judd saw the same opportunity Alexander passed over, the chance to cripple him and he took it.

Alexander felt the air knocked out of him. He was still on the ground. He won't know until he stands up whether he was permanently crippled or if his knee was just sprained but something felt wrong.

After a minute or two, he sat upright and watched his environment.

At least, the world wasn't spinning anymore in his eyes.

Judd had his back to him.

"Did I break your leg?" He asked the king without turning around.

"I don't know. I am not ready to find out" Alexander answered truthfully.

"I think I just committed treason, your highness" Luther Judd acknowledged.

"Technically, you tried to kill me… so, yeah" Alexander tried to stand up but his knee was too weak "I don't think it's broken... maybe severely sprained"

"Sorry" he murmured.

"Are...you c-crying?" Alexander was puzzled and surprised. Luther Judd was crying, what on earth was going on?!

Judd turned around to face him.

"I am not crying! I am sir Luther Judd. I am the king's shadow. The lead knight, I am powerful and I am resilient. I don't run in the face of trouble. I have faced death several times and I came back victorious! Do you think I am capable of breaking down in tears like a little whimpering infant?!"

Alexander wondered whether he should answer the question Judd asked.

"No" he answered even though Judd's eyes were filled with tears.

King Alexander wasn't about to tell a man who just crippled him temporarily that he was crying. He was not a coward but he wasn't suicidal either.

Judd felt the sob leave him even when he tried to keep it in. "I am not a traitor! I am not a traitor! I am not a traitor!"

"I know that, Judd. I know that!"

"I am not a traitor, Alexander!"

"I know... nobody is calling you one, even though technically you just tried to kill me but hey! Nobody is calling you a traitor. You are working through something and... punching people helps you process your emotions faster"

Alexander tried to stand up again but his knee still wouldn't allow him. He gave up and he lay down on the ground Instead.

Judd saw that the King made himself comfortable on the ground and he moved closer and he laid down beside him too.

"You killed my father, Alexander. You are King and I am your shadow...and you killed my father" Judd whispered to him.

Alexander looked at him. He had never seen Judd in that light before... broken, vulnerable and beaten. He hated himself for doing that to him.

"I am sorry I hurt you, Luther. I am sorry I killed your father. I don't remember it. I wished I did" Alexander spoke to him in a whisper.

"That evening when everything went to shit, it was raining….." Judd started with the truth of what happened years ago.
