Chapter hundred and forty seven: If I can rewrite the stars.

Few years earlier

Sir Liam Judd walked into a room that looked like it housed a young boy of about ten years old. Most of his wardrobe was on the floor and one of his legs was dangling out of the bed.

He smiled, messy Luther who he knew would one day be the greatest lead knight and king's shadow that has ever lived, Liam just had to figure out how to get him to stand up and be less messy.

It was still dark outside but it was time for his training.

He sat on the bed and touched his hair softly.

"It's time, my boy"

"Father, go away!" He pulled the blanket over his head.

"Come on, lead knight... it's time for your training" Liam urged him on.

Luther opened his eyes and sat upright.

"Papa, what if I don't want to be the lead knight. I don't even like prince Alexander. All he does is ignore me like I wouldn't have to risk my life for him one day" Luther complained bitterly to his father.

"My boy, what have I taught you?" Liam asked his son.

"I am Judd, I have honor and duty and without those, Aradale will fall. The fate of this hemisphere is on my shoulders, the strength of the king is only as good as mine but whatever I do, I shall not forget to be honorable but sometimes, my fist is better than words. Be ready all the time, a lead knight is always on duty" Luther answered him.

"Good" Liam pulled out his wooden sword to strike him but Luther Judd had one under his blanket along and he defended himself and his father was impressed.

"That's my boy" Liam rubbed his hair and made it look unkempt. "Meet me outside in five minutes"

As Liam Luther stood up to leave his son's room, Luther had a question that the answer would forever be imprinted in his mind.

"The king is a bad man, when do you know when to stop protecting him, father?" Luther asked him.

"Never. The Judds have been lead knights and king's shadow for centuries, to a Judd nothing is more important than his duty to the crown. Duty comes before everything else, my boy including family. I will conquer the whole world to protect you, Luther but if the choice is you or the crown, I will kill you to protect the Crown"

Luther Judd stood up from the bed and took out his sword from under the bed.

"It sounds like a lot of responsibility, Father….I won't let you down"

Judd never did. He was up before his father most times and with time he became stronger and stronger.

Most times, he accompanied the crown prince on his duties. Naturally, they could go hours without talking to each other. It was clear, he was to be king and Luther was to be his protector but nobody expected them to be friends.

The day of the ambush, Luther Judd had just turned eighteen years old and he was almost as strong as his father who was rumoured to be the only man to ever beat King Darius in a fight. As a reward, King Darius threw a feast for him where he ordered him to wash his feet like he was a mere servant. It was humiliating and for days, Judd remembered his father not being able to look anyone in the eyes.

Now, as plans to conquer the eastern hemisphere were in the works, the king with his son decided to travel with a smaller army to the Eastern hemisphere.

Judd stood behind his father as he wore his knightly uniform.

"Why can't I come with you, Father?"

"Luther, we are going to war. If anything happens to me, I need you to take over and be the leader of the house Judd. I need you here, Son" Liam told him.

"My place is by the future king's side. If the crown prince is going to war doesn't that mean I have to go too. I am not a coward!" Luther reminded his father.

Liam turned around and grabbed his shoulders gently, Judd was taller than him now.

"When we come back from this war, our status will change. I promise you"

Liam Judd picked up his sword and walked out.

Luther Judd tried to stay put like he was asked by his father but he couldn't. He picked up his sword and he followed them disguised as one of the royal knights.

They were on the boundary between Namura kingdom and Narva Kingdom when they were ambushed.

He rushed to protect the crown prince. At first there was confusion and uproar. No one knew where the attack was coming from. Most of the royal knights were dead and so we're the attackers.

Soon, the remaining attackers came out of the shadows dressed in black. Judd counted six.

With just the King, the crown prince, himself and his father still standing, the leader of his attackers took off his mask. Judd recognized him instantly. He had seen him a number of times in Aradale and once, he saw him talking with his father behind an alley.

"How dare you attack the king of the West? Do you have a death wish?" King Darius asked them.

The king didn't even finish his statement when they attacked him. He was barely human the way he fought. He killed them all in under a minute.

As if Luther Judd knew what was about to happen, he took off his helmet and his father saw his face.

"Luther! I told you not to come!" Liam yelled at his son.

Luther was about to answer when he saw a dart headed for the King's head, he stopped it with his sword. The dart came from his father.

"What are you doing?" Luther asked his father.

"He wants the crown for himself, don't you Liam?" Darius asked him with a smirk.

"It's my birthright, Darius" Liam answered.

"What is he talking about?" Alexander asked his father.

"I think Sir Liam Judd found out quite recently that we share the same father" King Darius replied nonchalantly to his son.

"Is this true?" Luther Judd asked his father.

"Yes, I am older. The throne should be mine" Liam answered his son.

"Even if that was true, the throne of Aradale can't be occupied by an illegitimate child. It's not your birthright, Liam" Darius answered.

Liam pulled his sword and pointed it at the king.

"Father, stop this!" Luther yelled at him

"You should listen to your son, Liam. And by the way, whomever told you that you are my illegitimate brother lied to you. Don't get me wrong, my father did screw your whore of a mother but no child ever came out of it" Darius turned around to face Luther Judd

"Luther on the other hand is my son. Seem like the Judds has a history of marrying slut and whore that pleasure their king when needed"

"You are lying!" Luther yelled at the king "You are not my father, Liam Judd is"

"Father, is this true?" Alexander asked his father.

"Yes, Alexander. He is your illegitimate brother" Darius answered and laughed like it was a big joke.

"He is my only child!" Liam Judd told him.

"I guess you are impotent then" Darius told him "And stupid, because for your act of treason, I will wipe out your entire linage, Liam Judd. I will obliterate the house of Judd from existence"

"You imbecile!" Liam yelled but instead of attacking the King, he attacked Alexander instead.

Luther Judd was left with no choice but to fight his father to protect the future king. It was his duty as a Judd and the king was lying about him not being a Judd.

"What are you doing, Luther?" Liam asked his son.

"I am Judd, I have honor and duty and without those, Aradale will fall. The fate of this hemisphere is on my shoulders, the strength of the king is only as good as mine but whatever I do, I shall not forget to be honorable but sometimes, my fist is better than words. Be ready all the time, a lead knight is always on duty" Luther Judd chanted the mantra Liam Judd taught him to his father.

"He will kill our entire house!" Liam told him.

"I will keep them here while you go back and get everyone out of Aradale. He won't hurt me if what he says is true...no father would kill his son" Luther Judd answered.

But as soon as he turned around, the king was aiming a sword at his neck.

He was going to slit Luther Judd's throat but Alexander intervened by knocking the sword out of his father's hand.

"Don't hurt him!" Alexander yelled at Darius.

The fight started almost immediately between Liam Luther and Alexander, along the way, Darius stopped watching and defended his son. More attackers came out of nowhere, the royal family was outnumbered and it was becoming night....a full moon.
