Chapter one hundred and fifty one: What are you doing?

Alexander watched his little sister from the stool he sat on. He was almost sure that they were the only siblings on earth who still have conversation in their private chambers while they sit near the fireplace.

"Are you sure?" Rosemund asked him.

The worry lines on her face made her a little bit older than her eighteen years of age.

Rosemund might not notice it now but she was tapping her right foot on the floor of her bedroom.

It was an indication that she was nervous.

"Are you really... really sure, there is no way around it?" She asked her brother again.

"The witch I met at the isle of the blessed told me that there was no other way" Alexander answered her.

"But then why did Jamie tell you that she can cure you with a portion….why did she lie? Why can't something go the way we want it to for once, Alexander?!" Rosemund yelled at no-one in particular.

"What will you do?" Rosemund asked him.

She turned around to stare at him with eyes that were filled with concern and tears.

"It is not even a decision, little one. If it's me or Janessa, then it's not a decision. I will die first before I let her end her life so I can merge with my wolf and not go crazy" Alexander said with all the sincerity in the world.

Rosemund felt the tears as they fell down her cheeks.

"Oh Alexander, why are we so unfortunate?" She buried her face in his chest. Alexander wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her hair.

This rock that has been there for her almost all of her life. Rosemund wondered what she would do without her brother. Rule a kingdom and be alone in the whole wide world with a curse with no cure?

"Can't you let her do this for you?" Rosemund asked him "I know it's selfish of me to ask but if she wants to do it, can't you let her?"

Alexander pushed her out of his chest and held her firmly on the shoulders.

"Let my wife die for me? Rosemund!" Alexander yelled at her in disbelief.

"You can't make me feel guilty for wanting to save your life. You are the only family I have, Xander. If the choice is between you or Jamie, I choose you" Rosemund was adamant.

"I love her" Alexander told her and Rosemund blinked. "Have you ever heard me say something like that about a woman before? I love Janessa"

"And I love you, Alexander. I won't sit quietly and watch you turn into our father. I won't" Rosemund stood up and tried to walk out.

"Rose, stop" Alexander stood and went to her. "I won't turn into Darius. I have asked Commander Blake to be in charge of constructing a silver cage big enough to house me. When I can no longer function, I will retire there to live the rest of my life while you will become Queen without the curse. In the end, everything will work out for everyone, little sister."

Rosemund stared at him in disbelief.

"You think I would let my brother live in a cage like an animal? Think again, Alexander! Think again!" She yelled while shaking her head.

"Stop!" He commanded her "Soon you will be Queen and Alpha of the pack. Don't let your emotions blind you, Rose. I have to start training you. As Queen, you don't have to learn how to fight but as Alpha you have to"

Rosemund kept shaking her head. She looked terrified.

"I will be alone. I will have no family" she whispered to herself.

"That's not true. I have something else to tell you, sister. It's about Judd. You should sit down"

Rosemund sat back down on the stool and waited patiently for the information that Alexander seemed to think she would care about, after hearing that he was going crazy.

He was right. She cared deeply about it.

Even as she walked out the door angrily amidst the calls from the king asking her not to confront Judd, she cared.

She cared so deeply about it that she was walking down the stairs to the Knight's training ground to say her piece of mind.

Judd was with seven of his knights when he saw the crown princess approaching. The clenched fist and the squeezed face told him everything he needed to know.

Bloody hell! Judd muttered under his breath.

"I have to go now, Keep practicing" Judd said and turned around and fled from there on his horse.

Rosemund watched with a renewed anger as her now brother fled to avoid talking to her.

She turned around and went back inside. She wasn't going to sit still and do nothing. She won't let the only person that meant the world to her die because he won't let his wife pay the price and she was going to find a way to talk to Luther Judd.

He can't run forever now, can he?

Judd sat in his hidden spot and sharpened his sword, he wondered how long it would take for the crown princess to forget everything the king told her. Or maybe he would just hide out here forever.

Rosemund was never known to be able to control her anger, she would explode all over him and everyone in the kingdom would know that he wasn't Liam Judd's son.

So, he made himself comfortable until he felt a presence behind him.

Hell! She found him.

"You are persistent, aren't you?" Judd asked the presence before he turned around.

"Rachael!" He froze midway.

"Sir Judd" Rachael whispered.

Before Judd could get over the shock of seeing the last woman he kissed before he was forcefully married to a Queen, she was hugging him.

"I am so glad you are back. I was worried, when you went missing" Rachael wrapped her arms around him as relief flooded her.

"I am alright, Rachael. There is no need to worry about me" Judd told her and hugged her back. He had a soft spot for her and he couldn't exactly push her away.

He pulled away as soon as he could without appearing rude. Judd sat back down on the rock.

"How are you doing, Rachael?"

"I am alright now that you are alright, Sir Judd" She answered with delight.

"Good...good. I thought you would be by the Queen's side, Rachael"

"The Queen sent me away. I don't work for her anymore...not after what she did to us!" Rachael's voice was filled with spite.

"Us?" Judd sounded confused.

How would he tell this woman before him that there was no 'us'

What he had with her was a kiss in his drunken state and nothing more.

"Us?" He asked again.

Rachael came closer to him and before he knew what she was about to do, her lips were on his. Rachael was kissing him.

Judd blinked and pushed her off. He wiped his lips with the back of his palm.

"Why did you do that?" Judd asked her and stood up.

"Because I missed you. Didn't you miss me, Luther?" Rachael asked him.

Judd stared down at her like he would an enemy. And she had called him Luther, only Eileen called him that.

"I am married, Rachael….to a Queen. Do you understand that?"

"I don't mind. You are allowed to have mistresses, aren't you?" Rachael asked him.

"You are so much more, Rachael. You don't deserve to be anyone's mistress. You deserve a husband and a home you can call your own" Judd tried to reason with her.

"You were supposed to be mine. This is Jamie's fault!" Rachael yelled at him.

Judd grabbed her shoulders and he looked her straight in the eyes.

"If you call the Queen of this realm by her name again, I will have to arrest you, Rachael. And I don't want to have to arrest you. Do you understand me?" Judd's voice was firm and collected but what he told her was also true.

He picked up his sword and started walking away when Rachael hugged him from behind.

"I love you, Judd"

Judd turned around and he kissed her cheek. And without saying any other thing to her, he walked away.

Judd opened his door and entered. He saw the woman sitting on the stool in his dark room. He knew it was Eileen. No one else would be bold enough to enter his personal chamber in the House of Judd without permission.

He wondered whether he should tell his wife the truth about the kiss Rachael imposed on him. But what would it achieve? It wasn't like he owed Eileen any explanation since he wasn't in love with her but he respected her.

After much argument within himself, he decided to spare her from the damage the information might do to his wife, what she doesn't know can not hurt her. And even though he wasn't in love with her, he wouldn't be happy if Eileen told him about a moment she shared with another man.

"I am hiding from the crown princess" He told her to break the silence as he opened the curtains to let sunlight in.

"Run no more, she found you"

Judd turned around towards the part of his room the voice was coming from.. It wasn't Eileen's voice.
