Chapter hundred and fifty eight: What are you?

Jamie stared at her dress. She loved it. It wasn't just unique but it was different. Jamie was comfortable with being different.

"What do you think, Heaven?" Jamie asked as she kept looking at her dress.

"It's perfect. What shall we call it?" Heaven asked her as her excitement grew every minute.

Jamie wondered about it for a minute. It was a combined effort between herself and Heaven but mostly Heaven as it turned out she didn't actually know how to use a needle for anything other than mending.

Heaven squatted down to adjust the dress from the knee down. It gave Jamie the idea she needed.

"How about we call the style 'Heaven's Kneel'?"

"I like it, your majesty"

Jamie was about to say something when they heard a knock on the door. She turned around just in time for Heaven to inquire about names.

"It's Lady Lucinda May and Ms. Semeen"

Jamie recognized the voice.

She turned and walked towards the door. And as soon as she opened it, she was ecstatic about showing off her new dress.

Lady Lucinda stared at the Queen. The most powerful Monarch in the world and she was utterly speechless.

The dress looked like a lot of shredded clothing materials were used. It was colorful and out of the world.

There was no other way for Lucinda May and Semeen to address it,l except that the dress was awful.

"We are calling the dress Heaven's Kneel. So, what do you think?" Jamie asked as Heaven placed the smaller box of jewelry in front of her.

"It's…it's different. I am speechless. Are you going to wear it to the ball?" Lucinda asked the Queen.

"Yes"

Lucinda turned around and whispered to Semeen "Get the king, please…that dress is awful"

Semeen agreed with her but she kept the smile on her face as slowly backed away from the Queen.

She walked as if the ground was scotching and the only way to survive was to place one foot in front of the other as fast as possible.

She eventually found the King, he was walking with his lead knight who Semeen almost didn't recognize. Judd looked like someone else in his ceremonial outfit, somehow a little bit approachable.

"Your highness, we need you in the Queen's Chamber" Semeen bowed to Alexander.

"Is Janessa alright? Is she sick? What is going on?" Alexander panicked for a moment when he saw the look on Semeen's face.

"No! She is fine. The Queen is fine but her dress isn't. And we need the king to tell her that because the ball starts in about ten minutes"

Semeen said and walked away.

Alexander wanted to follow Semeen but his attention was stolen for a second when he caught a glimpse of his sister in law, Queen Eileen as she walked towards them with two ladies.

Alexander watched his brother. Judd was blown away and he couldn't take his eyes off the Queen.

Eileen was wearing a sky blue dress that outlined her beautiful delicate features which made her look extravagantly beautiful and still somehow she looked modest. She had a crown on her head.

Soon she was standing before the brothers.

"Your highness" She bowed to Alexander.

"Your majesty" Alexander bowed slightly to her too. "You look exquisite as always. I have to take my leave now"

Alexander placed his hand on Judd's back and gave him a nudge.

"I believe Sir Judd has something to tell you"

Judd glared at the king for putting him in a spot and disappearing. Judd moved closer to his wife and he kissed her cheek.

"You look…good" Judd told her awkwardly.

Eileen chuckled and looked away for a minute. When she looked at her husband again, she had a raised eyebrow.

"What?" Judd asked her again with the same awkwardness "Did I say something wrong?"

"I don't know but it's not every girl's dream to spend an hour trying to look beautiful for her…. husband but…"

"You always look beautiful, Eileen" Judd quickly told her.

"It doesn't matter, no girl wants to be told she looks…good, Luther" Eileen answered with a mixture of resignation and hurt.

Judd took a step closer to her. He used his right hand to lift her face up and then he surprised both himself and Eileen by kissing her softly on the lips.

Eileen blinked. "Why did you do that?"

"It's an apology. Sorry, I am awkward with compliments. It wasn't a skill I thought I would need. Tell me what to say" Judd admitted to her.

Eileen was still getting over the shock of being kissed in public but she nodded all the same.

"Just tell the truth. Do you like the dress? I noticed you liked blue, Luther"

"You are a beautiful Eileen. You are breathtaking" Luther whispered again and brushed his lips on hers again "Is that better?"

"Yes…Yes and thank you"

Eileen wondered why her husband was behaving like this, like he was starstruck or something. She knew everyone referred to her as beautiful but it had never made Luther treat her or kiss her like that and in public.

Whatever he was on, Eileen prayed that it never wears off.

"You look quite handsome too. And you just kissed me twice in public" Eileen reminded him.

"I am sorry. You are Queen, I shouldn't have"

"No, I liked it," Eileen confessed.

"Good" Judd kissed her again but this time around, it was longer and Eileen was kissing him back.

Alexander watched them for a while before leaving. He felt a certain kind of joy in his heart. He hoped that one day that Rosemund and Janessa would find that kind of love.

The thought of Janessa with another man made he almost want to puke but he didn't want her to spend her whole life sad that she lost him.

When he entered the Queen's Chamber, Jamie was standing in front of the mirror. Lucinda May walked up to him and she bowed before him.

"Everyone get out!" Alexander ordered.

Lucinda, Semeen and Heaven headed out at once but not before Lady Lucinda May came closer to him to whisper.

"Don't let her go outside looking that way"

Alexander grabbed her hand softly, he knew that he couldn't take away the smile on his wife's face. She was happy with her achievement.

"Get princess Rosemund right away" The king ordered Lucinda May.

He couldn't take away the smile on her face but he knew someone who would do it without feeling guilty.

Alexander wondered whether he should feel bad that he was using the enemity between his wife and sister to his advantage.

"What do you think, Alexander? I made it myself!" Jamie turned around and flew into his arms.

Alexander wondered about the polite way to tell the woman he loves that she looked like a peacock, he was blank.

"Do you like it?" Jamie stared at him with her big green eyes as she waited for his answer.

To buy more time until his sister arrived, he simply kissed her to distract her.

Even though Alexander was enjoying distracting his wife, he was more concerned about Rosemund.

As soon as he heard a knock on the door, he pulled away from Janessa to let his sister in.

Rosemund was dressed in a bright yellow dress that suited her complexion. She looked beautiful.

"Wow, Rose…you are beautiful, little one" Alexander touched her cheek.

"Thank you but I would look more beautiful if I had my necklace and my crown but Lady Lucinda practically dragged me out of my room" Rosemund said impatiently.

"Who is it, Your highness?" Jamie asked from inside the room.

"Tell her it's awful" Alexander told his sister and pulled her inside.

"Oh, it's you…Rosemund. I love you dress" Jamie told her sister in law and hugged her.

"You do know that you look like the offspring of a peacock and a butterfly?" Rosemund whispered to Jamie as they hugged.

"I know. The dress is awful!" Jamie accepted at last "But I like it. I made it. It's my creation and I hate royal balls"

Rosemund tried to suppress her snicker.

"My brother wants me to tell you that it is awful" Rosemund whispered to her.

After the incident in Koi, somehow the hostility between the two was reduced.

"What are you going to do?" Jamie asked her.

Alexander watched the hug that was somehow lingered longer than necessary and he wondered why.

He waited patiently until they disentangle to hear the verdict from his sister.

"What do you think about the Queen's dress?" Alexander asked his sister.

"Oh, I love it. Can you make one for me?" Rosemund asked Jamie.

"Huh?" The look on Alexander's face made both ladies laugh.

Eileen waited to be announced by the door of the ballroom. Judd had left briefly to give instructions to Walters. For some reason, he was uncomfortable with his new outfit, he told Eileen that he felt exposed.

Eileen was looking straight ahead when someone approached her. She didn't want to appear rude, so she smiled softly at the girl.

"Your majesty, you might not know who I am but…"

"You are Rachael, The Queen's former lady's maid. How may I help you?" Eileen asked her.

"I don't know how to say this but I thought you should know that Sir Judd and I are in love with each other" Rachael told her.

Eileen smiled. She had seen a lot of servants falling in love with their masters. She didn't believe Rachael.

"If you don't believe me then ask him why he kissed me in our secret spot last week!"
