Chapter hundred and fifty nine: Liar Liar, Judd is fired.

Eileen watched the girl in front of her. She was probably younger by a year or two years. She smiled softly at her.

"You are that girl?" Eileen's voice was low and filled with pity.

Rachael blinked. "What do you mean by that?"

She asked and took a step closer.

She was expecting the Queen to fall apart or yell or grab her hair but instead she was behaving like she just told her that her husband wasn't a philandering ass.

Actually the queen looked like she was just told that Judd was the greatest husband to walk the earth.

"What do I mean? Well, you are the type that kiss and tell, Luther is the type to tell me about the lonely girl he used to know that he kissed because he felt so sorry for her and if he didn't, she would just do stupid things like approach a Queen without invitation or attempt sucide" Eileen had a compassionate look in her eyes.

"No. It wasn't like that! He loves me! He chose me before you con your way into his life!" Rachael became unstable with each given second.

Eileen looked away from her when she heard footsteps coming towards them. It was her husband. It was the man she thought was making an effort to make their relationship work, a philandering, heartbreaking jackal who was the cause of her public humiliation. He was the reason she was smiling like a homicidal Maniac secretly plotting the death of a husband and his lover while performing a puppet show for the whole world that was watching her.

"Oh here comes Luther, he should probably tell you everything I just told you himself" Eileen waved at her husband.

When Judd saw Rachael he was vastly uncomfortable. He hastened his strides to get to his wife. But if Eileen was smiling then it must be an innocent meet and greet but deep down, he knew that there was fire on the mountain.

When he came closer, he went straight to his wife.

"What's going on here?" Judd asked in his slightly irritated voice as he glued his eyes to Rachel.

"Rachael here, seems to think that you are in love with her because of the measley kiss you shared with her last week…you know the one you told me about, sweetheart" Eileen touched his cheek.

She could see the way his body was tensed and the way he shifted his body weight from his right leg to his left, he was nervous. Eileen could see that.

"Rachael, what the bloody hell are you doing?" Judd's voice was naturally meant to be loud and now that he was speaking in whispers it felt unnatural and even more terrifying.

"Her Majesty, Queen Eileen and Sir Judd of Koi" Eileen turned as her name was called.

She looked at her husband before she then distangle herself from him.

"Luther, we don't yell at mentally ill people, Baby. I think you should stay here and make sure Rachael is alright. I will walk myself inside" Eileen said just Incase Judd was going to humiliate her again but asking to stay with Rachael outside.

"No. You are right. She is mentally unstable but she is not my problem"

Judd offered his arm to Eileen and she took it with a big smile. As they walked into the big ballroom, Judd tried to explain to Eileen the truth about last week.

"Eileen, I am not…."

"Shut the bloody hell up, Luther. People are watching and you won't humiliate me inside the ballroom too"

Judd didn't say anything to her. He simply kept quiet, there will be hell to pay later.

After they walked down the hall, they stood by the side until the King and Queen of the West enters.

Jamie walked down the hallway in her peacock dress and her hand interlocked with Alexander's. She knew he must be wondering how somehow, she had ended up convincing Rosemund to wear the peacock design too.

"Are you alright?" Jamie asked him.

Alexander exhaled. He wasn't. He was attending a ball with his crazily dressed wife.

"I am okay sweetheart" he murmured.

"If you hate the dress so much then I can change it" Jamie offered at last.

Alexander thought about it. It would be so easy for him to yell yes and pick her up, and take her back to her chambers to change but yet again who cares what she was wearing, she was a woman that three months ago was trying to kill him and now? Now, she was willing to die for him.

He was blessed and he wanted the whole world to see the woman he fell in love with.

The woman he fell in love with was not perfect.

The woman he fell in love with was wild, strong, bold and selfless. She cared nothing about perfection or society or elevation. She loved fighting and she was friends with her maids and she was currently wearing a ridiculous dress.

"I should simply change it, Alexander. I don't want to embarrass you"

Jamie turned around but Alexander grabbed her hand to stop her.

"You know what? I love your dress if you love it too" Alexander declared with a smile.

"I really do" Jamie agreed with him.

"And if Rosemund wears her own peacock dress then you won't look out of place in the ball" Alexander kissed her forehead.

When they got to the door, the smile on Jamie's face was gone.

"Rosemund, you are not wearing your dress!" Jamie watched her sister in law who was currently in a yellow dress looking as beautiful as the sun.

"Wait! Were you actually serious?" Rosemund had a look on her face that Jamie believed. She really did think that Jamie was joking.

"Yes!" Jamie said in-between her clenched.

"Sorry, I had no idea. Come on, we should get you changed" Rosemund tried to grab her hand but Jamie took a step back.

"No. I love my dress. It's awful and a social sucide but I love it. I am going to wear it and I will be as proud as a peacock, Princess"

Jamie flexed her shoulders and relaxed. She was happy and no one was going to take her joy away.

"Good for you, my Queen" Rosemund lowered her head and smiled.

Then she was announced.

"Crown princess Rosemund of Aradale"

Rosemund nodded and walked inside.

Jamie was about to enter when Alexander directed her attention to the southern corner.

"Oh…my…God!" Jamie covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing out loud like a lunatic.

Lady Lucinda May, Semeen and Ursla with two of the Queen's ladies in waiting were all wearing the peacock dress. It wasn't the same colors but the design was the same.

"Why?" Jamie asked them.

"I actually like it. It's very comfortable and easy to wear" Lucinda said and touched the dress. She was in awe of it.

(Do you really think I won't stand by my Luna as she commits fashion sucide?) Semeen told her through the mind link.

"This dress is ridiculous" Ursla told her "But we are rebels, aren't we?"

Jamie was touched.

"Yes, we are" Jamie answered.

Alexander remembered another reason why he was in love with her. She was the type of woman that changed people's lives forever and she always left them better than when she met them. She was the type of woman that would make proud women dress like a bird without even asking.

"Thank you" Jamie muttered as they were announced.

"King Alexander and Queen Janessa of Aradale"

Alexander took her hand and they walked inside the ball room. Even when everyone stared at Jamie in horror, they both tried to suppress their laughter until they walked down to the end

After the first dance between couples, people were allowed to change partners. Alexander danced with Eileen while Jamie danced with Prince Waylen of the North.

"Are you alright, Queen Eileen?" Alexander asked Eileen.

"I am, thank you your highness" Eileen had a sad smile on her face.

Alexander watched her, she was smiling too hard like it was a coping mechanism. He wondered what his brother had done this time. He was supposed to tell Eileen how he felt about her not make her sad.

"Talk to me, sister-in-law" Alexander whispered to her.

Eileen was quiet as she contemplated whether to take the king up on his offer or keep her feelings to herself but she had no one to talk to. Luther's family was the only family she had now herself.

After an extensive battle with herself, Eileen came clean to Alexander.

"Luther kissed Rachael, the queen's former maid. She stopped me outside the door to tell me"

Alexander looked away briefly before he looked at the queen again.

"I know. He told me but…" Alexander wanted to say more but the music ended and they exchanged partners but what stayed with him throughout the dance was the look he saw on Eileen's face. She looked like she had been betrayed.

Jamie danced with Duke Aniston, she could hear some of the ladies by the corner whispering and gossiping about her and her peacock dress.

"Excuse me, I have to have a word with those noble ladies" Jamie said and left the dance abruptly.

She walked up to them "Do you have something to say to me?"

"We love your dress! It's…different and comfortable!"

Jamie was surprised.. It wasn't how she thought this conversation would go.
