Chapter hundred and sixty: No, not again Rachael!

"Eileen, i have to talk to you" Judd followed his wife even when the next activity was separated among genders. The noblemen were going to play a game of archery while the ladies did embroidery and gossip.

Eileen stopped walking when she figured out that Judd was willing to follow her into the tea room.

"What are you doing? You are not allowed to follow me into the tea room, you would know this if you paid any attention to the rules of the court" Eileen admonished him.

"Well, I am a knight not royalty, anything that doesn't end in blood spill or mortal kombat wasn't considered part of my training" Judd explained like the rules didn't apply to him.

"What do you want?" Eileen asked him.

"I want you to stand still long enough for me to explain what happened with Rachael" Judd touched her arm and rubbed it in a parallel manner.

"It was just a kiss, Luther. You are a Queen's Consort, you are allowed to have mistresses. You have nothing to explain to me as I understand. Obviously, you didn't do anything wrong" Eileen said in a passive aggressive kind of way.

Judd was relieved. Goodness gracious! For a moment he thought she was actually angry at him.

He exhaled and smiled at her.

"Good. I am glad you understand that I didn't do anything wrong" He even went ahead to kiss her cheek before heading out to join the king on the balcony.

Eileen watched her husband go, she was astonished at how gullible he was. Did he really think she understood a thing about what he was saying? How gullible was the fool? She felt her heart pound in excess like it was trying to break free from her chest.

She exhaled to steady herself and blinked to refocus her gaze. She has to deal with him in her own way. She couldn't believe she was actually falling in love with the fool.

Turning away from the figure of her infidel husband, she walked into the tea room. She was surprised to see almost every noble wearing Jamie's ridiculous peacock dress. Eileen couldn't believe that it was trending.

Jamie met her by the door, she was over the moon in her ridiculous colorful dress. She pulled her hand and her teeth flashed in excitement.

"Can you believe everyone likes my design?" Jamie smiled like a lunatic.

"Heavens and her siblings have been making dresses for everyone here since morning. But it's a shame that they are all calling it Peacock dress instead of the original name but who cares! I am going to be rich!"

Eileen watched the queen in her excited state, good God! She sometimes behaved like she had no worries in the world. Eileen envied that about her. She was truly something else, it wasn't a wonder that she managed to capture the heart of a man rumoured to be the devil.

"You are already rich, Jamie. You are Queen over the West" Eileen reminded her.

Jamie paused like she had just been told a huge secret.

"True, I am rich aren't I? But guess what? I am richer! I am going to share the money with Heavens and her family. And I…"

"Luther, kissed Rachael!" Eileen blurted out and interrupted Jamie.

"What the bloody hell?!" Jamie's curse word drew attention from people around her.

"And Luther thinks I am alright with it" Eileen said like it was a big joke.

"Are you?" Jamie asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No!" Eileen answered.

"Did you tell him that?" Jamie asked her.

"No…why should I?"

"Because he can't read your mind and if he indeed shares blood with Alexander then he is going to need you to say out loud. Telling Alexander to let go of his mistresses was the only way he thought to do it and… he shot an arrow that impaled my shoulder two weeks before that day"

Eileen blinked at the information. Why was the king impaling the queen with an arrow?

Jamie saw the look on Eileen's face and she smiled.

"Oh! Sorry, you thought our marriage was a love match. Well, it wasn't. I was brought here in a cage, Alexander kidnapped me. The first time we were in his chamber, I held a dagger to his throat and drew blood. Then I was thrown from a horse trying to save him. And he shot an arrow that impaled my shoulder two weeks later but only to save my life" Jamie quickly added.

"Most of the time I was here I was plotting his death and chained to the wall. I caught him with one of his Mistresses on one occasion. I threatened her. I also held Rosemund hostage to escape…." Jamie saw the shock on Eileen's face. She had no idea.

Jamie laughed heartily.

"Do you know why I told you about my personal life with the king, Eileen? my marriage wasn't a love match at first but look at us now. I am crazy about Alexander and he is about me too. I am giving you hope that when something is meant to be then it's going to be" Jamie touched her cheek.

"What if Luther and I are not meant to be?" Eileen asked her.

"He gave his life for you. And have you seen you? You are gorgeous. He would be a blind man not to like you" Jamie reassured her.

"Thanks, Jamie" Eileen hugged her.

Rosemund came closer when she saw the drama that was unfolding.

"What is going on? Everyone is looking at you" Rosemund asked them.

"Your brother is an idiot" Jamie blurted out. And Eileen chuckled.

"Which one?" Rosemund strangely asked.

"Luther kissed Rachael" Eileen told her.

"Please, tell me it's not Meg's daughter…Jamie's maid…tell me it's not that Rachael" Rosemund closed her eyes as she felt the disgust wash over her.

"Okay, I won't tell you but yes" Jamie whispered.

"What are we going to do about it?" Rosemund asked.

When Alexander saw his brother walking towards him, he dismissed Duke Aniston to talk to his brother.

"Did you convince her of your innocence?" Alexander asked him as soon as he came closer.

"I didn't even have to. She told me she knew that I didn't do anything wrong" Judd said with a smile.

Alexander winced. "Tell me exactly what she said"

Judd did and Alexander almost punched him.

"You really have zero understanding of how women think, brother. She meant the opposite of what was coming out of her mouth. Did you really not court a lady while growing up?" Alexander asked him.

"Why the hell didn't she say exactly what she meant?!" Judd had an exasperated look on his face.

"Because you have a…brain?" Alexander told him.

Judd exhaled, he was exhausted.

"What should I do?"

"Tell her what she wants to hear from you, Judd"

"That I am innocent and next time, she should say what she is really feeling because I am not good with unspoken clues?" Judd asked him.

"No" Alexander shook his head. His brother was really not good with clues and hints. It was embarrassing. He had a lot of work to do with Judd.

"She wants you to tell her that you love her, fool" Alexander said and threw his hands in the air in a fed up manner.

"Oh, Ok-ay!" Judd accepted. "Should I go now?" Judd asked him.

"No…No, Judd you can't. They are in the tea room and men aren't allowed there at the moment"

"Right. Don't look at me that way, before you pushed me into marriage…"

Alexander interrupted him "In my defense I didn't know you were my brother then…"

"That's beside the point, after Eve died I thought I was never going to like any girl ever again. When I had needs I used my mistresses, there were no feelings involved and no subtexts too. Now, I have to relearn everything. So, give me a break, okay?" Judd told him.

"Fair enough, I will. Come on, archery is about to begin. I am going to enjoy taking the championship again" Alexander said and tapped his shoulder twice.

Judd wondered if he should tell his brother that he has been pulling back his punches over the years to avoid winning against the king he was supposed to be protecting.

"Yeah sure" Judd said instead.

"I know that look on your face. You are not better at archery, alright?" Alexander told him.

"I know" Judd answered with a straight face as he watched the king walk out.

Judd decided to go back to his wife and explain but he couldn't. And so he asked a maid to ask Eileen to come to the balcony.

As he waited, he heard a sound behind him and he turned around from the chair he was sitting on. He was startled to see Rachael.

"Rachael! What are you doing here?"

"I have been waiting all day to talk to you, sir Judd"

"Why? You lied to my wife, you kissed me without my knowledge. You need to leave. My wife is coming to meet me" Judd pointed to the door. Rachael moved closer.

"Good. I want her to see this"

Rachael pressed her mouth to his again. Judd wasn't expecting it and so he didn't push her off until he heard a voice.

"What the bloody hell??"

He turned around and it was Rosemund, Semeen and…. Eileen.

Oh bollocks! Not again!.
