Chapter hundred and sixty one: Time to fight.

"No, I can explain. It's not what you think" Judd stood up and went after his wife.

He wondered why Rachael was hell bent on destroying his marriage.

Eileen took off immediately when she saw the man she calls her husband kissing Rachael again.

Eileen held back tears as she tried to escape. The last thing she wanted, was for Judd to see how much his actions had affected her.

But no matter how much she tried to keep them back, tears fell all over her face.

She couldn't believe she was so stupid. How could she believe that he wanted more out of their relationship?

This was an arranged marriage and nothing more! It was time she accepted it. Except no one told her that acceptance would hurt so damn much that she felt like she was being ripped in tiny pieces.

Eileen had no one to blame but herself. Judd was upfront with her that this was not a love match but an arranged marriage but she had fooled herself that she could have more.

Stupid Eileen! Stupid! Stupid Eileen.

Eileen locked herself in her chambers before Judd could reach her. He knocked severally on the door.

"Eileen, please let me in! I can explain everything to you. I didn't kiss Rachael. She kissed me"

Judd could hear her sniff back tears.

"You don't owe me any explanation, Luther. I am alright" Eileen answered with a voice that said otherwise.

"I am not falling for that again. You are saying the opposite of what you mean again…"

Judd was interrupted by a sound. He turned around immediately thinking it was an intruder from the ball but it was Walters.

He looked agitated like he had a pressing message to tell him but it wasn't pleasant information.

"Sir Judd, you need to find the king. I am returning your authority as lead knight back to you…" Sir Walters was breathless like he had been running for sometimes now.

"Walters, I am in the middle of something at the moment. Can we pick up this conversation later?" Judd dismissed him abruptly.

His main focus now was to tell Eileen how he feels about her. And at the same time, make her believe that what she saw was a set up by someone he was going to murder very soon if he wasn'tt stopped.

Judd turned away from Walters but he grabbed his arms.

"I am relinquishing authority to you because we are about to be invaded by the south, by king Jaxon!" Walters finally spoke out loud.

"I am sure you can handle king Jaxon's army, Sir Walters and... if Jaxon is a moron and foolish enough to invade the west with his tiny little army then your orders are take no hostages and leave no one alive" Judd told him.

He wondered why Walters would relinquish authority when he could handle Jaxon by himself. It didn't make any sense to him. Walters was not a coward, he was a seasoned fighter that could hold his own in a battle. Judd had witnessed it several himself but even when he expected Walters to leave, he didn't bulge. He simply stood there and stared at him.

"What are you not telling me?" Judd asked. He was a little bit worried now.

"It's not just Jaxon, the seven kings of the southern hemisphere are all invading us at once. You have to get the king" Walters allowed himself to say.

Judd straightened his posture, it was time to take back his authority over the king's army.

"Sound the alarm and send out the 53th, 16th and 22nd battalions and war commanders to prevent any breach into our territory. We are going to war, Walters and we don't have time to prepare. Go! Go! Now!"

Judd looked at the door his wife was currently hiding behind and he reminded himself of his priorities.

"Duty over family"

Judd took off towards the archery ground to get the king to safety. He had no weapons on him and he was completely vulnerable without his Knightley uniform.

Judd made his way into the ballroom to get to the king but instead he came across the Queen with an angry expression on her face. Judd could take a guess.

He knew that Semeen and Rosemund told her of his second kiss with Rachael and he would love to stay and chat with her about the morality of the whole matter but he had a war to plan and a king to protect.

"Sir Judd…" Jamie pointed her finger at her as her whole body shook with anger.

Judd stopped and looked at her. She was Queen and his loyalty was to her too but right this moment he was not her brother in law. Right that Moment, he was the king's shadow and lead knight.

"Your Majesty, I can't talk to you right now. I need you to get to safety" Judd told her and tried to leave but Jamie surprised him by showing him her pricked finger that was bringing out blood.

"You pricked your finger, the physician will take a look at it but I have to find the king" Judd told her impatiently.

The easiest way was to tell her about the impending invasion but he wasn't allowed to tell her without informing the king first.

Jamie smiled mischievously.

"No. I pricked it because I wanted to take a look at the past and boldly tell Eileen that you are a convincing cheat"

Jamie grabbed his hand and she had a vision of Rachael and Judd.

"That raccoon…Rachael!" She spat out and then she saw a glimpse of Judd having a conversation with Walters but before she could hear words, Judd pried off her hand.

"I don't have time for you to take a peek at my past, your majesty. I have to go" Judd took off but this time around in a run.

The Queen had wasted a few minutes of the time he didn't have. He wanted to get to the king before the alarm was sounded.

He almost made it. He could see the King as he was about to make his second shot with the arrow when the first bell was sounded.

"What's going on?" Duke Aniston asked the king.

"It's probably nothing. One bell ring hardly meant anything" Alexander said to stop the spread of panic among the noble men that had never picked up a sword to fight before.

"Your highness" Judd stood in front of the king when the second and third bell was sounded.

He knew that Alexander knew it was war.

Alexander turned around to his lead knight to watch him with two angry dots for eyes.

"Who dares to invade my kingdom?" Alexander spat out in a justified anger.

The western hemisphere hasn't been invaded in decades since the days of his grandfather. The western hemisphere did the invasion on other kingdoms and swallowed them.

"King Jaxon of the southern hemisphere…"

"Squash them…" Alexander told him

"King Jaxon and the armies of the seven kingdoms of the southern hemisphere" Judd paused for a second before he added "The whole of the south is invading us, your highness. I have deployed three battalions to keep them out, I just need to get you to safety"

Judd knew that Alexander was a fighter and any talks about keeping him away from the battle ground was going to fall on deaf ears.

"Did you play out this conversation in your head?" Alexander asked him.

"I did. And I have a feeling the response would be the same" Judd answered as they started walking back to the king's court.

"Two princes of the Southern hemisphere that attended the ball have been detained, your highness" Sir Derrick emerged from the northern corner to join them. "What are your orders, your highness?"

"They are to be treated as guests until I need to send their heads back to their kingdoms" Judd ordered as he now has authority over everything concerning the war.

"No" Alexander overruled him "Let them go, have some knights escort them out of my kingdom and have them exchanged for any of my subjects that are trapped in the south before this war starts fully especially the Duchess of Crane and her grandson that went for a visit yesterday"

"Yes, your highness" Sir Derrick bowed and started to walk away when Alexander spoke to him again.

"And if they refuse, put an arrow through each of the prince's heads and make sure the south watch"

Alexander and Judd walked into the King's court where the rest of the royal family and lords of noble houses were waiting for him.

Alexander went to his throne but he didn't sit down.

"The south has declared war on us and we will not back down. The west is officially at war. All the protocols for war have been activated. In my absence, you will answer to the crown princess. Victory will be ours, soon"

"The army and knights of Koi will stand with the king of the west in this war" Eileen declared, she did her best to avoid looking at Judd.
