Chapter hundred and sixty eight: Give them hell!

"You need to stand up. You are choking him and if he becomes really dead instead of almost dead then I can't save him. Get up!" Jamie yelled at her.

"Sorry" Rosemund stood up immediately. "Can you save him? Please, tell me you weren't just kidding?" Rosemund asked with a hopeful face.

"It all depends whether commander Blake makes it back in time with the lake water I asked Eileen to grab on her way here. I figured if I can't take Judd to the isle of the blessed then how about I bring the lake to Judd" Jamie told her sister in law.

"I have been crying!" Rosemund yelled at her.

"I know. And It was touching" Jamie replied.

"Why didn't you stop me if you knew he was going to live?" Rosemund wiped her face violently.

"Because I am not sure…it will work, Rose. I am saying it's a hail Mary! It might not work" Jamie was sincere with her.

Rosemund hugged her tightly.

"Jamie…make it work and I swear on my brother's life that I will be nice to you for as long as we shall live. Just give me back my brother, please"

Jamie tapped her back gently.

"I don't care about niceness. I want command over your armies and wolves because one way or another, the southerners are dead! And don't you dare remind me that I am a Queen and Queens, don't go to war!" Jamie was dead serious. She was done hiding under the rules of society.

She knew deep down in her soul that Alexander was still alive and she would search every inch of Derkal for him and she would kill anyone standing in between her and the love of her life.

"Give me back Judd and my armies are yours to command, Queen Janessa" Rosemund answered her.

Jamie waited patiently for Blake to come back with the lake water and he did at the dire moment.

He pushed his way in the physician's court and he handed the lake water of the isle of the blessed to the Luna.

"We are not standing down, are we?" Blake asked as soon as he handed the water over. "We are not standing down. They killed our Alpha. He must be avenged!"

Jamie stared at him. She recognized the anger in his eyes. She had seen that type of anger in Semeen except hers were clouded by tears.

She understood that Alexander meant so many things to so many people that people are primitive in their emotions when it comes to him.

"We are not standing down but Commander, I still need my hand to tend to Luther" Jamie spoke softly to him without blinking.

She wondered whether Rosemund minded that everyone was looking to her to take leadership of the pack instead of the Alpha Princess. She looked at Rosemund and Jamie concluded it was highly unlikely. The princess was so focused on Luther that every other thing was irrelevant.

"Jamie, please hurry up" Rosemund grabbed Judd's hand to comfort him as Jamie murmured some gibberish she learnt from the woman in red when she trapped her in head a few minutes after Rosemund fainted.

Jamie had asked for a spell to save her brother in law and she hoped she was saying it correctly.

Jamie sprinkled the water on him and everyone waited with apprehension.

"What is going on?" Rosemund asked her.

"I don't know. This is the part where he opens his eyes and we all hug him" Jamie looked even more confused.

Rosemund exhaled sharply as another fresh batch of tears pooled under her eyes.

"It didn't work. He i-is still dying"

Deep down the princess knew that her only living brother would be dead before sun up.

Jamie waited for the anger and the threats from the crown princess for having given her false hope.

"I am so sorry, Rose. I really thought it would work. I a-am…" Jamie's voice trailed off as she saw Rosemund nod several times.

"I know…I k-know, you did your best. Now it's my turn. I have to do all I can for him. I just have to be sure that he is alive when Eileen walks through that door" Rosemund looked at Jamie with her face filled with tears.

"You are not needed here, Jamie…"

"Rosemund, please, do not do what…"

"You are not needed here. I got this. He is my brother and I have his back. Take the army…" Rosemund cried even more "Avenge my brothers and my kingdom!"

Jamie was surprised. It wasn't exactly how she expected this to go.

"Rosemund, are you sure?"

She nodded.

"Just…just try not to die, her Majesty. I have buried enough"

Before Jamie left with Blake, she lowered herself and she kissed Judd on the cheek.

"Give…them…Hell, my Queen" Judd whispered to her.

Jamie wiped the stupid tears that were beginning to stain her face.

"Good bye, Sir Luther Judd…Knight of the realm" Jamie murmured and stood up.

Rosemund stood up too and she hugged Jamie.

"This is your destiny, isn't it? Janessa of Aradale, Princess of Namura….I think you were conceived for this very moment and so, this is not goodbye. Come back as soon as you are done" Rosemund whispered to her.

"Don't wander off on your own. Stall the coronation as long as you can. Alexander is not dead and you don't have to activate your curse by wearing the cursed crown. Rosemund! Do you understand what I just told you?!"

"I will do my best"

"Good and…if I should die, please tell my Papa…" Jamie started to say but she was interrupted by Rosemund.

"If you want to say anything to your father, do it yourself. I am not an errand girl" Rosemund turned abruptly to sit beside Judd.

Jamie was slightly amused. It was her sister in law's way of saying 'don't die'.

She opened the door and she exited with Blake right behind.

Before she got to her chambers, she saw Ursla, Semeen, Councilor Jared, Derrick and Cash, the former leader of the resistance.

Jamie could also make out two more figures standing far away.

"What is going on?" Jamie asked them.

"We heard there will be a fight and we are going with you" Jared told her.

"Councilor, go home to your wife and children. You are not a warrior and your family needs you" Jamie told her friend.

"Respectfully, I can hold my own in a fight. I am not a knight because I didn't come from a noble family. If King Alexander or You, my Queen needs my help…I shall not be found wanting…"

"But Lucinda May…" Jamie reminded him of his wife.

"She said…don't let her go off on her own with you covering her… ummm…covering her back" Jared coughed awkwardly. His wife didn't say back, she said butt.

"And you Cash? Did you come of your own freewill?" Jamie asked the man she beat in a fight.

"I didn't…" Cash was interrupted by coughs from Semeen and Ursla, and they took a step closer to him.

"I guess I did come of my own freewill and so are the numerous followers of the resistance" Cash answered at last.

"Thank you…all of you" Jamie told them.

She was interrupted by a voice behind her from the figure she saw before.

"Hello, Jamie!"

Jamie turned around. She recognized that voice.

"Elliott!" She fled into her brother's outstretched arms.

"What are you doing here, Elle?"

"We heard…about Alexander. Father sent me to stop you from doing something stupid like take control of your husband Army and match to war" Elliott answered when he pulled away.

"You can't stop me, Elle" Jamie warned him.

"Yes, I can. I can pick you up and carry you back to Namura but…" Elliott was interrupted by Jamie.

"I won't go easy and you will definitely lose some part of your body in a fight with me, Elle"

Elliott exhaled.

"Can you stop threatening me for five seconds to hear what I was going to say, Athena?" Elliott always made reference to the goddess of war as an insult for Jamie's eagerness to resort to violence.

"Okay"

"I won't stop you…hell, I will even join you but Father sent Zadok, his lead knight to stop us"

The siblings turned around and looked at Zadok. He bowed to Jamie but didn't move an inch.

"We need to incapacitate him" Jamie suggested.

"Have a go at him because the last time I fought Zadok…I had a banging headache for a month and he wasn't even instructed to stop me from going off to war by any means necessary. The only person I know to have defeated Zadok was father and do you see father anywhere here, Jamie?"

Jamie looked for a way out. She knew that Zadok would follow her father's order to the end.

She needed a way out.

"Blake?" Jamie called out to the Werewolf.

"Yes, Luna"

Blake stepped forward.

"Uhmm…exactly how strong are you, Commander Blake?" Jamie asked with a raised eyebrow as she saw Zadok take a step forward.
