Chapter hundred and seventy two: Sever the link.
Judd turned abruptly and stared at Eileen. He waited for her to deny it but she simply kept mute and looked at everyone. His wife couldn't hold the gaze of any of them, including his gaze for more than three seconds.
"Is it true?" Judd whispered
He wanted her to jump up and say that it wasn't true. But her silence spoke louder than her voice and he turned around to look at Jamie.
Bloody hell! He was draining her life force.
"Why would you do that to me? I thought we were friends?" Jamie asked her as she tried her best to wrap her head around what was happening.
"We are but he was dying and there was no other way to help him. The lake water didn't work and the healing leaf was out of season. I had no choice. He is my husband and I couldn't lose him" Eileen justified her actions in a calm voice.
She didn't see Rosemund approach her or her palm until it connected with her face.
The slap stung a little bit.
"How dare you! She is Alexander's wife!" Rosemund screamed at her.
"Isn't Judd your brother too?" Eileen asked the crown princess.
Judd took a step forward to his wife when she was slapped by his sister. He didn't like it. He didn't like it one bit. But she had crossed a line and he was vibrating in anger.
"Sever the link now! Return the life you took from her, Eileen" Judd order her
"No" Eileen whispered.
"No? I said give it back" Judd yelled at her.
"You can't, can you? The spell is irreversible" Jamie murmured.
She walked away and stared at her husband's throne.
Where was Alexander?
She needed him but he was nowhere to be found. She exhaled and closed her eyes briefly. She imagined his arms wrapped around her, comforting her.
"The spell is irreversible" Eileen murmured. "The woman in Red told me that the spell would only take a few years from you and it will sever. It should have been severed by now! You weren't supposed to find out!" Eileen was worried but it wasn't exactly what Jamie wanted to hear from her.
"You should have been severed by now? Is that your excuse, Queen Eileen. My husband is missing and I have to find him. How come people I call family can't refrain from stabbing me in the back! Is being betrayed one of my powers? You think it should have been severed. Well, let's test that theory, shall we? Judd please give yourself a cut" Jamie turned around and stared intently at the lead Knight and her brother in law.
"No. You can't ask him to hurt himself. If you want to punish anyone, then punish me!" Eileen shrieked and stood in front of her husband, her little body doing her best to shield Judd. Which was ridiculous since he was a giant and she was not.
"Eileen, I have to"
Judd took out his dagger and gave himself a cut on the arm. It was a little scratch just in case it appears on Jamie, it wouldn't hurt much.
"Is it severed?" Judd looked at her anxiously.
"No" Jamie showed everyone the matching cut on her arm.
She exhaled. It was certain now. She was dying.
(Luna…Luna, we need to talk. The soldiers are back. The war is over)
Jamie heard Semeen's voice in her head. And she was distracted for a minute. If the war was over and the Western hemisphere had the south on its knees then it meant the warrior wolves could search the remaining villages for their Alpha King.
She needed to leave the castle and go to the packhouse.
"I have to find Alexander. The war is over. The West won, Rosemund…. Now, I have to go" Jamie wanted to leave but Judd stopped her.
"We need to figure this out. There must be a way" Judd wished he could undo everything himself and give her back her life.
"There is nothing we can do, your genius wife made sure of it when she cast that spell" Jamie gave him as an answer.
"Talk to the woman in Red, please" Judd told her. "Please Jamie…please"
Jamie exhaled "Alright, I will but I have to search the village for Alexander. I have roughly about three more hours before I am completely drained. I will make the journey to the isle of the blessed before then"
"I am coming with you…"
Judd was interrupted by Jamie
"No. Stay here, Sir Judd. I can't risk you becoming fatally injured before I can sever the link…just stay put!"
Jamie almost made it to the door when she turned around to speak to Eileen.
"...but in the meantime, I want you, Eileen, to get out of my hemisphere. There is no need for me to keep looking at the face of my murderer"
She protested but Jamie walked away.
"She can't throw me out of the West. I have every right to be here just like she does. We both married men from the western hemisphere!" Eileen protested strongly as she looked at Rosemund and Judd.
"No, Eileen. It's not the same. She is Queen here and you are not. She took my brother's name and you did not. If she wants you gone then you should leave" Rosemund said and tried to leave but Eileen's voice stopped her.
"You of all people should understand why I did what I did! You are known to go the extra mile for your siblings. Don't act all righteous with me when you almost did the same thing a few weeks ago. You were alright even encouraged Jamie to sleep with your brother and die just to merge Alexander and his wolf! Why am I the devil for doing the same thing you wanted to do?" Eileen asked the crown princess.
"Because she wanted to do it! She was willing to die for him. What you did was different? And luckily my brothers are not as rotten as I am and they talked me out of it. I am happy my brother Luther is alive…I am even grateful but you had no right to do that Jamie without her consent. You should have used your own life instead of hers" Rosemund confronted her
"I tried! It didn't work. Everything about her is magic. I have magic in my blood but not as much as Jamie. I had to use her" Eileen tried to justify her actions.
"I need you to leave my kingdom, Queen Eileen, as soon as possible. And until Jamie finds a way to sever the link, my brother stays here in the western hemisphere" Rosemund said and walked out.
Eileen turned to the one person she knew that won't judge her.
"I had to do it. For our future children and the life we were supposed to live together. I am sorry but I couldn't lose you. I am sorry, Luther…I am so sorry" Eileen's cheeks were filled by dropping tears.
Judd hugged her tightly and kissed her hair.
"I know you are sorry but you should go back to Koi and I will come to you when I fix this anomaly. Come on, I will put you in a carriage" Judd contained his anger. He knew that more yelling won't do any good.
He knew Eileen was a good person and it was already eating her up from the inside.

Jamie was almost to the pack house when everything suddenly became dark and she wasn't on a horse anymore instead she was sitting under an oak tree staring at nothing. At first, she was confused but then it dawned on her.
"Red!"
She looked around for the woman in red. Since she was the only witch that could summon her without her consent, not that she has met any other witches before.
"Where are you, coward?" Jamie stood up and yelled for her.
"You can run but you can't hide. Sooner than later, I will snap your neck!" Jamie yelled again.
"Here, beast mistress!"
Jamie turned and there she was wearing her signature red dress and standing behind her.
"I will kill you…" Jamie tried to grab her neck but she disappeared and appeared further away from her.
"Stop trying to strangle me. Our physical body is tucked away safely in the real world. We are just a projection" Red explained to her.
"Good!" Jamie closed her eyes and she opened them again. "Strangle yourself" she demanded of the woman in red.
She knew she was able to take over Red's creation since she had done it before.
Red wrapped her fingers around her neck and she started choking herself.
"Jamie, stop! Jamie, stop you're killing me!"
"Why do you want me dead? Was it because I refused to kill my husband?" Jamie asked as she watched as Red strangled herself.
"Y-you are n-not d-dying!" Red was able to get out.
"What?! Stop choking yourself! What did you say?" Jamie asked her and relaxed.
