Chapter fifty three: On a land far away was a little girl and her name was good.

Jamie closed her eyes as she waited for the pain but it never came. She turned to have a look and found a stocky well built man as he grabbed the whip before it landed on her body.

Her savior wrapped the whip around his fist and pulled at it hard and the councilor came crashing on the ground.

"Papa!" The little girl yelled with an outstretched hands to the man that had just saved her.

He picked her up and hugged her tightly.

"You saved me!" Jamie whispered to the man.

"Thank you for saving my daughter. How may I ever repay you?" The man asked her.

"Papa, invite her for food. Mama is making some, today! Our house is hard to miss, it by the river that way!"

The little girl pointed east. Jamie saw from her peripheral vision that the councilor was up and he was about to send his dogs on the little girl's father.

"Take your daughter and run!" Jamie told him as she went to send in-between the councilor and the daughter. She was ready to fight.

Alexander was by her side in a minute and so was Sir Judd, Rosemund, Ginger and Rachael.

Alexander saw everything and he was enraged. The Councilor was going to hit his Queen and that was capable of sending everything sane in him insane. He wasn't a king at that moment, he was a husband and he was out for blood.

The councilor came at them with all twelve of his men. The whole market froze.

"Take your daughter and my family and run. Keep them safe! Now go!" Alexander yelled at the man.

The man was taken aback, the young lad was half his age and yet he had so much authority in his voice that he felt himself obeying him.

"I am stay here with you" Jamie told Alexander. She was determined to fight side by side with the king.

"Janessa!"

"Yell all you want. I am not leaving your side!"

"Fine. Cover your face with this!" Alexander grabbed a scarf nearby and gave it her.

Jamie knew what she had to do with the scarf. Her father had made her wear a veil whenever she was fighting in the forest.

Alexander ordered Princess Rosemund, Rachael and Ginger to follow a stranger and his daughter. They all obeyed him.

The man gave his daughter to Rosemund and he lead them towards a narrow path towards Eastside. They ran for a while before the man stopped and looked at Ginger.

"You are in charge" The man told Ginger whose eyes immediately went to Rosemund. She was in charge really.

"And where are you going to?" Rosemund asked the man.

"They are outnumbered. I have to go back and fight with them"

"I have a feeling that my brother and his friend will do just fine, Mister. Are you sure you want to trust a bunch of strangers with your lovely daughter?" Rosemund asked him.

"Your brother trusted his family to a stranger and he is fighting a battle that is not even his. I have to go back. Lily knows the way home from here, don't you bumblebee?"

"Papa is right! My house is over there" the little girl yelled.

The man turned and raced back to the market.

When he got there, Jamie was disarming one of the guards and she was holding a cooking pan. She was oblivious of the attacker behind her and the man raced to save her but both Alexander and Jamie smacked the attacker with their various weapon at the same time. The attacker felt his eyes roll and he fell face first to the ground.

He stood there in awe. The fight was over. People stared at the three strangers that spent three minutes doing what they had imagined doing themselves for months.

One of the councilor guards tried to grab a spear and a market woman hit him with a cooking pan. The whole market went up in uproar. They clapped and cheered Jamie, Alexander and Judd.

Jamie wanted to take off her veil to enjoy the praise but Alexander grabbed the veil and made it a little bit tighter.

"Now, can we find my sister?" Alexander asked his Queen who was enjoying the limelight a little too much.

"Come, this way. I will take you to them" The man told them.

They followed the man towards the forest Eastside.

"Thanks for your help but I afraid we've made thing worse now. The councilor will come back with vengeance this time" The man talked as they walked.

"What is going on?" Alexander asked the man. He was angry.

"We are here!" The man declared as the came out of the forest to a small cottage near the River.

Jamie could hear giggles of children as the walk down to the cottage. The man went ahead of them while the rest follow behind.

"They can't afford the tax you are imposing on them, Alexander. Don't you care about that?" Jamie whispered to the king as they walked.

"My tax is fair. The last I checked, it was seven silver penny and that is more than fair" Alexander hated the way Jamie looked at him. Like he was stealing from the poor.

Alexander had no idea what was going on in Trinity but he plans to find out.

A brown haired woman dressed in a yellow dress ran towards them.

"Jared! Jared!" She rushed into her husband's arms.

"I am fine, sweetheart. We have guests. We have to host them" He told his wife and kissed her.

"Welcome. My name is May. You saved my daughter's life. That makes my family indebted to you forever and a debt we would like to start paying off now by offering you a meal" May spoke to the royal family.

"I am famished. Thank you, May"

Jamie walked with her back to the cottage while the men walked behind them. They entered inside to meet everyone else.

"This is our oldest Julian, middle child George and you've already met our youngest, Lily. Say hello and go wash up" May instructed her children.

"Hello!" George and Julian did as they were instructed.

Lily flew into Jamie's arms instead.

"Thank you"
