Chapter sixty nine: who is that?

"Actually, I did beat every opponent except one. It was a tie" Jamie replied with a smile.

"It's an honor, your Majesty. I hope we can be friends?" Eileen asked her.

"I would like that, Queen Eileen"

A lot of nobles and royal families arrived and so did knights from kingdoms far and near. Jamie kept hoping Namura would show up. If they did, it would be difficult for Alexander to hide her and she would be rescued. The big event in the receiving room started and the guests were entertained with food and drinks. People were in groups as they talked. Jamie was temporarily separately from Alexander as he had a lot of people to chat with.

She simply stood by the side of the room with a cup of wine.

Another royalty that got Jamie's attention was princess Matilda of Drake and she arrived with her father, the King. Jamie noticed because she was a flirt and she couldn't keep her hands to herself. Alexander appeared to have turned a blind eye to the princess's way until Eileen approached the princess.

"Princess Matilda, how is the wart that was rumored you were suffering from?"

Jamie almost choked on her wine as she laughed suddenly. Everyone turned to look at her. She straightened her face and stared back boldly. Eileen moved towards her and offered her a handkerchief.

"Are you alright, your Majesty?" Eileen asked her.

Jamie took the handkerchief and covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing out loud. Even Eileen smiled warmly.

Queen Eileen watched the king's wife and finally there was a girl she liked. She wanted to say something when her attention was hooked as a young man walked inside in a knightly uniform.

He was a giant with a devil's fork beard with no moustache which fitted perfectly on his diamond shaped face.

He had a devil may care outlook that made Eileen even more allured. With a Viking-gold hair and concrete jaw, he was ruggedly handsome and a body that should belong to a god. Eileen stared at him nevertheless with her mouth almost open.

"Who is he?" She asked Queen Jamie.

"Oh, that is just sir Judd, the king's lead knight"

"You are going to introduce us, your Majesty" Eileen's eyes were still glued to Judd's frame and he was oblivious of it.

"I am?" Jamie sounded puzzled and amused at the same time.

"Yes, that is what friends do for each other. They don't allow a friend to be drooling over a Knight without doing something about it" Eileen spoke in a calm serious voice.

Wait! Eileen wasn't attracted to Alexander but Judd; Jamie felt her gourd go down. Unless she was just pretending and as soon as she was unaware, Eileen would take her husband from her. Jamie watched her face for a second or two. She appeared sincere.

"He is coming! He is coming!" Queen Eileen said in a singing voice "What should I do?"

Eileen quickly grabbed Jamie's arm and interlocked it with hers.

Sir Judd saw his Queen and he went to offer his assistance since the king appeared to be ignoring his bride and he knew well enough that when Queen Janessa feels ignored, she always do something to send the king over to the edge of insanity. Jamie wasn't his idea woman.

Judd knew the kind of woman he wanted, someone that was the direct opposite of the queen. His woman will be calm, quiet and good natured. She wouldn't be too flashy or too beautiful. Just someone that could fit in the background with him and he didn't expect a huge love but he should at least like her. Love always led to stupid mistake and he was the lead knight. His priority was always going to be the King.

He was so close to the Queen when he saw the young girl beside her. It's wasn't just any young girl, she was a Queen regnant. He had offered his hand to her a few minutes ago when she arrived.

"Your majesties" Judd bowed to both of them.

"Hi" Eileen whispered to him. She was love struck.

"Sir Judd, this is...." Jamie started but Judd spoke.

"Queen Eileen of Koi, we've met your Majesty"

"You have?" Jamie asked.

"Twice, actually, first time was when I was ordered to take your head and present it to King Alexander..."

"Oh yeah, I am glad you didn't. I quite fond of my head, Sir Judd" Eileen should remember him from then but she didn't. Memories were always tricky especially when one's head was in line.

"Why would Alexander want your head, your Majesty?" Jamie looked like she was going to throw up.

"Some of my subjects, hunted in the western hemisphere which was against the treaty we all signed" Eileen explained.

Jamie knew that Koi was in the Eastern hemisphere. Will the Queen agree to send a message to her father?

"So, king Alexander demanded for my head" Eileen completed.

"What did you do?" Jamie asked her.

"I proposed marriage to him and in exchange I will abdicate the throne..." Eileen continued.

"You were willing to give up your kingdom?" Jamie was surprised. She wouldn't give up her kingdom without a fight. She would rather die than abdicate.

"I know what you are thinking, Queen Jamie. I must be a coward to give up my kingdom to stay alive but I must assure you, it wasn't the case. Only a fool goes to war with the most powerful king in the realm and if I am killed, my knights will wage war and they will lose and many of my beloved subjects will die. And all of that could be avoided if I abdicate in favor of marriage"

Does the queen Eileen secretly arbor some misgivings to her husband? Was she planning a scheme to kill him? Jamie knew if someone had threatened her head and her people, she would do just that.

"But I then got a message of apology from the king and a constant supply of food to my subjects and now, Koi and west are allies"
