Chapter seventy one: let's go wild

Jamie wondered whether it bothered Judd that he had to pay respects to a couple of young girls he was older than. Knowing Judd, it was probably unlikely.

Eileen's heart skipped a beat. She didn't know why this sulking man had that effect on her. His brooding face watched them and she was sure he overheard everything they said.

Eileen was determined to find out why she was attracted to him. She had seen fine men - kings, princes and noble men yet they never quite held her interest.

"Sir Judd, may you be as kind enough as to walk me back to my Chambers?" Eileen asked of him.

Judd looked confused and conflicted.

"If Queen Janessa would come with us then it would make my job easier" he replied.

"I think what sir Judd wouldn't say is that my husband wants him to keep an eye on me while he is in the cabin" when Jamie saw the look on Eileen's face and remembered the warning Alexander gave her about Eileen's head she quickly added "I tend to get myself into a bit of a predicament every once in a while"

Eileen relaxed after hearing Jamie's explanation. Jamie hated that Alexander made it so obvious that she was a prisoner in her own castle.

"You can take the Queen to her room, Judd. I will be fine on my own, I promise on my honor" yet Judd didn't move an inch. He simply grunted like he was in pain.

"Don't worry, Judd. I got her now"

Footsteps came closer to them and everyone turned to look. Judd was especially relieved.

"Yes, your highness"

Judd turned to leave but Jamie stopped him.

"Sir Judd, you still have to walk queen Eileen to her chambers and make sure she has everything she needs"

Judd grunted again and instead of offering his arm to the Queen, he simply pointed the way to her. Eileen smiled and started walking and Judd followed right behind.

Alexander was shocked at the authoritative voice Jamie used to speak to Judd. He liked it and it was a turn on for him. He grabbed her and kissed her thoroughly on the balcony. When he pulled away from her, Jamie protested gently.

"Kiss me again, Alexander!" She demanded in feverish voice.

"No" He wanted to oblige her and even though he had kissed her out of the blue without thinking just a second ago, he was once again reminded that they were in public under the prying eyes of people he didn't know. People that might be lurking in the dark somewhere.

Jamie searched with her eyes for a dark secluded corner and she found one. In-between the dinning hall and the shield room. Without warning she took off towards that direction knowing fully well that Alexander would follow her.

She was still wearing the same outfit she wore during the day but Alexander had changed into a more casual shirt and pant. He looked more like a handsome stone faced knight than an actual King.

Jamie waited patiently for him to reach her and he did.

"Kiss me now!" She demanded again. At least, now they were in a secluded place and her husband didn't have to worry about people. Jamie had seen him look around before.

"No" He whispered again.

"Why?"

"Because you wanted to be treated like my mistress not a queen. I say no to my mistresses sometimes, Monisha"

Jamie's face grew darker. He had openly admitted that he had mistresses and he plans to treat her as one.

Alexander felt the sharp pain go through his abdomen even before he realized what happened. Jamie realized too late what she had done. She had slammed her fist into Alexander's abdomen. She gasped and her eyes became wider.

Alexander closed his fist and slammed it into the wall instead. He turned and walked away leaving a shocked Jamie in the dark.

Why had she hurt him like that? For a second, she thought he was going to do serious damage to her body. For one in the tight corner they were standing, Jamie wouldn't be able to defend herself properly and he was stronger, no doubt.

Jamie walked back to her room. She had decided to think nothing more of the incident. A punch was by far the least thing she could have done to her husband after he had her lashed and shot her with an arrow yet she felt her eyes swell with tears and her little legs starting to move faster until she was running. She missed running in the wild with her Wolf friend, Max.

Jamie realized a little too late that instead of going to her room, she was taking the route to the garden into the wild and she was running in full speed. She felt the wind behind her but her eyes were blinded by tears.

"Max!" She yelled like the creature would automatically appear before her. She ran for a while before she stopped and sat by a fallen tree branch. Jamie placed her legs on the branch and pulled her legs close as she buried her face in them. She cried even more now.

"Max!" She whispered again.

Jamie first felt a slight brush the fur on her skin, it was almost like she imagined it. Then another and another until she was sure it wasn't her imagination.

"Max?" She called out before she opened her eyes

"Max!" She screamed louder now and buried her face in his neck as she wrapped her hand around him.

Except from the howling once in a while, the wolf was silent and didn't complain much as Jamie squished him to herself for comfort.

"You heard me call, didn't you old friend? You heard my voice and you came"

Max wasn't just freaked out, he was trying not to panic. He was a wolf on a regular day and worst, his human was beginning to be conscious. He wanted to talk to Alexander when both of them heard Janessa talk.

"I want to go home, Max. I just want to go back home"
