Chapter 664: New Director
A couple of prior,
Today is the day. Lu Chen thought as he stared at everyone in the conference room. All the board members were gathered.
"CEO, why have you called us here?" One of the board members asked.
It was a rare occasion. Lu Chen would never call them over here. The only time when they got together was during regular meetings. But that was about it.
"Do you have a problem with this?" Lu Chen narrowed his eyes.
"No! I have no problem with it!" The board members shook their heads quickly. The others looked at the one guy.
Why did you have to ask that?!
There was no way to question Lu Chen. The guy had the majority of the shares and was the CEO. And he didn't have any ounce of hesitation in kicking them out.
He kicked half of them out already.
Wait! Don't tell me he's about to fire a few more?!
Lu Chen shook his head, "We have a good number of things we have to discuss today. First things first, there have been many positions that are missing."
"Oh." The board members' expressions brightened. There was relief inside too.
That was a big thing. The first thing Lu Chen did when he became the CEO was to fire people. The ones he fired were people who weren't supposed to be in the position they were in.
"We need to get a new director." Lu Chen added. One of the people Lu Chen fired was the director. That person was one of Cao Wei's men. There was no way he would keep someone like that. And at such a high position too.
"Who do you think should be the new director, CEO?" The board members were interested. Despite being scared of Lu Chen, they couldn't deny his accomplishments. Signing Zhang Jian and then signing Chu Jingyi.
Having those two at ARCS was already an accomplishment that topped all the past ones.
"The person I chose to be the next director is Duan Huiling." Lu Chen said as he pointed at Duan Huiling. When the latter heard that, her eyes widened.
"CEO?! Me?!" Duan Huiling never expected Lu Chen would choose her!
Lu Chen nodded and explained, "Out of everyone here, you have done the most for the company. You deserve the position."
That was an understatement, as Lu Chen added,
"I wanted to make you the director sooner, but there was too much on my plate." Lu Chen calmly said. With Chu Jingyi's album and the other things outside, Lu Chen had to push it back.
"But who would do the paperwork?" There was a lot of paperwork Lu Chen still had to do. And she was there to support him.
"Shuchun got a handle on that. She would be fine alone." Kang Shuchun was faster than Duan Huiling.
"Then shouldn't she be the director?"
Lu Chen shook his head, "No. Having you be the director is the better choice." Kang Shuchun only joined the company recently. She didn't have knowledge of the company compared to Duan Huiling.
Plus, it was bad for someone like Duan Huiling to be a secretary. Her abilities were being underutilized. That would hinder ARCS's growth. That was why going forward, Duan Huiling should have a higher position.
"Everyone agrees with what I said, right?" Lu Chen stared at the board members. All of them nodded their heads like chickens!
"Yes! The CEO is right! Secre- Director Duan has worked hard over these years! She deserves to have this new position!
